![]() Author has written 21 stories for Harry Potter, Hannah Montana, H2O: Just Add Water, iCarly, CSI, Phineas and Ferb, Avatar: Last Airbender, How to Train Your Dragon, Ghost Hunt, and Legend of Korra. Hey everyone. I'm Avatar Rikki. In case you haven't figured it out yet, my FAVORITE shows (or they were in 2007) are H2O: Just Add Water and Avatar The Last Airbender. My favorite things to do are: So of course this place is perfect for me. Please understand that grammar has never been my strong suit, or spelling. Spelling is worse than the grammar. Like I just misspelled grammar twice but spell check caught it. So if you see too instead of two, like my PnF fanfic has in it, don't tell me. I know its there and eventually I will find all of them and I will update the stories once I'm less lazy. I also get major writer's block so many of my chapter stories will go unfinished until I either get more ideas or I become less lazy. I have a DeviantArt profile too! avatarrikki And a tumblr account too! Also avatarrikki Ghost Hunt Headcannons and Stuff: This is just a couple of things I came up with while waiting for laundry to be done. I have more, but they give away key plot points in my big GH story I plan to write... Naru debated telling anyone other than Lin that Mai had been in contact with Gene in her dreams. Though Mai eventually told the rest of the team, he and Lin decided it would be best if Luella didn’t hear anything about it. They informed Martin that Gene hadn’t crossed over immediately after dying, but assured him that he did cross over after the body was found. Once it becomes clear later that Gene had not crossed over, Lin and Naru agreed that they weren’t going to be the ones to tell Martin. Lin is fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese (and can curse like a sailor in each one). However, when he’s taken by surprise (like really, really taken by surprise), he automatically curses in his first language on impulse (which in this case is Chinese). Madoka is fluent in a lot of languages: French, English, Japanese, Chinese, Gaelic, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Finnish, Dutch, Greek, and Korean. It helps to know multiple languages when you work with a perfect medium. Gene wanted to learn as many languages as possible, since he knew he’d eventually speak a lot of them. Noll thought that was pointless, seeing as he would be incapacitated during a séance anyway and wouldn’t be much help with translating. It also meant that any data they gathered about perfect mediums would be compromised, since Gene might already be familiar with the language. However, seeing how disappointed his brother was, Noll told him he could learn one other language, in addition to English and Japanese. Gene chose Chinese, much to Lin’s dismay. Noll hadn’t meant to learn Chinese. He’d pick up a few words Gene would say around the house or overhear during his lessons with Madoka, but he wasn’t trying to be fluent. It was only after spending a lot of time training with Lin, with a lot of the meditation being in Chinese, that Noll realized he knew more than he thought. Not wanting to leave anything half-finished, Noll self-taught himself while also tricking Lin into teaching him a few words after their training sessions. He got a lot of satisfaction when he learned the language faster than Gene. Since Noll and Gene were born in the US, their main language is English, with an American accent. After moving to the UK, they were both admired and teased by their classmates for their different accents. Noll was tired of standing out whenever he spoke, and it took him seven months to adopt the local accent. So for three months, everyone could tell Noll and Gene apart as long as one of them was talking. But eventually, Gene got tired of the teasing he got from his friends when he pronounced something differently and decided that he’d speak more British when he wasn’t at home. Noll wasn’t too thrilled by the fact that it only took his brother one month to be comfortable with the accent when it had taken him seven. Because Noll and Gene were very young when whomever had taught them Japanese died, it was up to Lin and Madoka to continue their education into their heritage. Gene was more interested than Noll, and therefore became more comfortable reading the language than his brother was. Noll just didn’t see the point of learning how to read Japanese since there were no parapsychology books in the language. He only kept up with the speaking aspect because it allowed for the brothers to have conversations in secret when Lin and Madoka weren’t around. They didn’t know Luella was learning the language as well. When fake Dr. Davis revealed himself to be a fake during the Urado case, and began speaking in English, there were only three people who definitely knew what he was saying because they were fluent in English: Lin, Naru, and John. Despite being close in age to Mai and Yasu, Naru also has a connection to Father John as well, in that they are both native English speakers. Though Naru was born in the US, and John in Australia, their first languages (or main languages) are English. Naru, Lin, Madoka must be fluent in Japanese with no foreign accent in order to fool the SPR team. Though Lin’s name is Chinese, everyone was still surprised to find that he wasn’t Japanese. The same goes with Naru. Not once did anyone mention that the reason Naru couldn’t be Japanese was because of his accent. When they first met John, Mai and Monk laughed at the way he spoke, a clear indication that Japanese was not his first language. However. Naru seemed perfectly normal. Other than the way he answered certain cultural questions, there were no red flags in regards to how he spoke. P.S. Thats the end of my profile. The rest is copy/paste stuff. If you don't want to look at it (and just want to see my stories/favorites) scroll all the way to the bottom. Copy/Pasties |
