Nature9000's PROFILE Welcome to my profile, thanks for stopping in. Let me give a shout out to all my loyal fans, WHAT'S UP! SPECIAL NOTICES: November 11, 2016: So my friends, I'm going to reintroduce myself to the iCarly people out there. What that means is I will repost some old stories here and there from years ago, for current fans out there to see. Sort of a window frame to the past. Now rather than rewrite nearly a hundred things, I'm going to show you the evolution process. Plus, working on my master's, some current tales in progress and two jobs while I search for my career leaves me with little time to rewrite anything. 1. Personal Info: Yahoo: Kingly_one1989 @ MSN: Nature9001 @ Aim: Nature9001 Skype: Kingoftexas1989 I'm currently majoring in Criminal Justice, so there's not much to say. I've been writing for a very long time. My most popular fandom has been iCarly. I've ventured out, but I'm going back to it. The characters were good, and I was able to churn out fresh and new ideas all the time. I only stopped when someone nearly destroyed it for me, but that's a personal tale not up for discussion here. I hope you'll enjoy my works, whether you're new to my writing or not. 2. My Views (Writing Wise) I think everyone has their own style and way to write, so I'm open to new things. I always think that if someone is passionate about something, they should pursue it, whether as a hobby or otherwise. I think when it comes to characterizations, you have to really work at making a good profile of the character you're working on whether it's for a fanfiction or a novel. Make sure the character is well polished, give them quirks and a personality of some sort; don't make them so perfect that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them-otherwise you won't have much to go off of. That's my issue with some shows out there, like Victorious, most all of the characters are so perfect that they come across as not having a personality, and it's so hard to write for them. However, I think the reason I did so well with iCarly was in time we saw that the characters were not that way, they had flaws and quirks about them that made for great fanfictions to be written. Another thing in my writing that I enjoy, I'm always looking for new ideas but when it comes to genre I stick to a few basics while trying to expand if possible. I'm not a big comedy fan, so I don't read or watch a lot of comedy, therefore my writing is not intended to be hilarious. I may have the characters say something witty here or there, but that's about it. Sarcastic humor is more my thing. When it comes to what I like to write, I go with adventure or action, romance, drama and investigative fiction. I also try to put some lesson in a story if I can. I believe it is necessary to keep a story realistic, or with some degree of realism. You can't have a character jump onto the wing of a jet in mid-flight, unless of course the story is a fantasy genre or your characters are supposed superheroes. There are certain legal things that must be addressed: Which is another issue I have with Victorious, you have characters stealing blood from other characters in a hospital or characters causing other characters great physical harm without any consequence whatsoever. You have parents telling their children they don't care about them or that they'd rather their child move far away, without any regard for the emotional or mental psychological state of their child. If these things happened in reality, we'd all be screwed up. Another thing I believe when it comes to writing a well prepared and fleshed out story; I was once told that every story must have an antagonist. Antagonists are not necessarily people, they can be an object or even an emotion. Antagonist just refers to the force that hiders the protagonist from their end goal. This antagonistic force must have a resolution by the end of the story, the protagonist must be able to over come this obstacle in their path. All too often I'll find people writing stories in which there's no drama, there's nothing that the protagonist must overcome; no obstacle or anything to make the progression difficult. This makes for, I won't say poor writing, but a boring tale. If there's nothing for the protagonist to overcome and they're so perfect that they can do anything without trouble, then there's no story. The protagonist shouldn't be able to walk from point A to point C without overcoming point B. The antagonist doesn't even have to be an evil force, just something that presents a challenge! Religion: Religion. Why does religion come into play? Because I do have a religion; I'm christian and I believe in God but I will never force my beliefs down your throat. I would ask the same of you. I should point out that a lot of what I believe doesn't actually come from religion, my beliefs come from my own moral code that was built based off my own experiences. To me, religion is just something that guides me, something I believe in, but I've formed my own beliefs throughout my lifetime; my own ethical standards. Thanks for visiting my profile and thanks so much to those who read and review my stories. I hope you enjoy them. Sincerly, Nature9000 |
