Author has written 41 stories for Final Fantasy XI, Detective Conan/Case Closed, Harry Potter, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Final Fantasy XIV, and White Collar. Greetings. I am female, was born in 1984, and I live on the East Coast of the USA. I love to read. I got into writing simply because I ran out of things to read. So, I decided to write and then I would have my own stuff to read when I got bored. I have lots and lots of horrible stories (original stories and fanfiction from many different types of media) locked away in notebooks and thumb drives, never to be read by eyes other than mine. I write for my own enjoyment and for the hope that maybe my writing will inspire ideas/creativity/imagination in others. My job is not related at all to writing, so thankfully I don't get tired of writing or daydreaming or reading. Probably the single thing I hate most about reading stories is when a writer starts a story and never finishes it. I am 100 percent guilty of this myself, and there are numerous unfinished stories in the deep vaults of my secret lab. Which is why as a personal rule, I will never post anything unless it is complete. I know this site is a work-in-progress site, but sometimes I come up with ideas that require the earlier chapters to be tweaked. Details added, scenes lengthened, not to mention a solid round of editing and polishing. And it's not fair to the readers to suddenly change it up on them. Especially since I tend to write mysteries or adventure-oriented stories. It's not a good twist unless there is a decent set-up and sometimes I don't think of a twist until halfway through the story. Plus, I hate sinking my teeth into a good story and it end halfway through with no conclusion. I refuse to allow my (small) band of readers (do I have any?) to be disappointed. So, if anyone is reading this and following any of the stories I might post, rest assured they all do have conclusions. There will eventually be a “complete” tag attached to every story I post. One way or another. Once a story is marked "complete" there will be no more updates to that story. Any continuations or sequels I will begin as a new story and indicate within the story if something needs to be read beforehand. Everything I post has been read and reread by me and maybe one or two of my friends before it hits the internet. That's not to say that there aren't mistakes. Please point them out! Nothing breaks a story's ambiance worse than a misspelled word or cluttered formatting. I may not be the best writer out there, but everything I post is my personal best. I do take criticism! Please leave me lots! I do want to improve. My main weakness tends to be descriptions. My writing tends to stray more toward the dialogue-oriented type. I'll add in hand motions and quick movements, but overall descriptions tend to be a very very weak point of mine. So I try to make a very big effort to focus a lot on that part of my writing during the editing stage. I don't read or write slash. I'm sorry, it's just not really my thing. That being said, I don't read or write X-rated fiction of any kind. I don't mind self-inserts if they're done properly. Generally, I will give any self-insert a once-through and if I enjoy the style in the first chapter I will continue reading. I write for my own enjoyment and my enjoyment only. My only wish in sharing my stories is for others to enjoy what I have written. That is my primary objective. I sincerely hope each and every reader enjoys my stories. I will, however, personally reply to each and every person who leaves a review (if they sign in so I can click on the 'reply' button). You went out of your way to read and take the extra effort to leave a review, and I thank you for that *bows*. And on that note, I shall end this long tirade all about me. Ugh, I feel sorry for anyone who had to put up with my self-centered drabble. I hope you enjoy my stories! ~Rem UPDATE: Sorry, I started working on a sequel to Horn of Amalthea, but then work/life got busier and my desire to write got lower. I have about 8-9 badly written chapters so far, but no real direction to take it, and I refuse to post an incomplete story. I've regained my yearning to write again, but my skills are super rusty (were they ever that good to begin with?) so I've been brushing up by taking FOREVER to write little one-shots. I do see sporadic activity on the story, however, so I know that the interest is still out there. I might pick it back up again and finish it. I kinda forgot myself what I was writing about... Also, I've lost touch with my old beta, so if anyone out there is interested in beta-reading the story, please let me know. UPDATE August 2017: Miraculous Ladybug has taken over my life, in case you couldn't tell from my more recent post history. Damn you Gabriel Agreste and your mysteriousness. I love you to pieces. January 2018: Starting to post my stuff over on AO3, if you prefer that site over this one. July 2019: I have a Tumblr now! Goblin-Alchemist is the username :) |
