![]() Author has written 9 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Teen Titans, Phantom of the Opera, and Labyrinth. For fear of sounding inadequate, or simply excessively dull, I'll give you a quick taste of my style, likes/dislikes, etc, etc. While I have no favorite author, my favorite genre of writing is historical fiction, namely romance and action/adventure. I love Victorian lit, fantasy and a plethora of modern novels. However, Phantom by Susan Kay is probably my favorite book, and my favorite series is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. I also love J.K. Rowling (who doesn't?), Leigh Bardugo, Maggie Stiefvater, Karen Marie Moning, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, etc. Some of my favorite quotes... -Phantom- "Until then, in the depths of her eyes, daroga, I had always seen my dead wife; it was the first time I saw my living wife there." - Erik "His voice is a sin. A mortal sin. No woman who hears it will ever die in a state of grace." - Madeleine (from Kay's Phantom) "Night after night the nightingale came to beg for divine love, but though the rose trembled at the sound of his voice, her petals remained closed to him." - Erik
"Artists use lies to tell the truth. Politicians use them to cover it up." - V for Vendetta "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. There is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof." - V for Vendetta "You do not let your eyes see nor your ears hear, and that which is outside your daily life is not of account to you. Do you think that there are things which you cannot understand, and yet which are; that some people see things that others cannot?" - Dracula "If you, suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners corrupted from infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded, sire, but that you first make thieves and then punish them?" - Ever After Beauty and fear make uneasy companions." - Inkheart "It was my view then, and still is, that you don't make war without knowing why. Knowledge, of course, is always imperfect, but it seemed to me that when a nation goes to war it must have reasonable confidence in the justice and imperative of its' cause. You can't fix your mistakes. Once people are dead, you can't make them undead." The Things They Carried "These violent delights have violent ends, And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, Which, as they kiss, consume." - Romeo and Juliet "Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici." (By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.) - The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus "Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same; and Linton's is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire." - Wuthering Heights -Nonfictional- "Speak when you're angry, and you will make the best speech you will ever regret." - Ambrose Bierce "Music embodies feeling without forcing it to contend and combine with thought, as it is forced in most arts and especially in the art of words." - Franz Liszt "The secret of being a bore is to tell everything." - Voltaire “If we seek the pleasures of love, passion should be occasional, and common sense continual.” - Robertson Davies "Trust what moves you most deeply." - Sam Keen "This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel." - Horace Walpole |
