This may be an older story, but I deeply enjoyed it. Thank you for the depth of the love you portrayed.
IamFrancesHa chapter 1 . 6/27/2018
Gorgeous story.

I’ve read A LOT of Labyrinth fanfic over the past couple of years and this is excellent, every time I’ve thought I knew where the story was going it’s twisted off and been new and different. Really enjoyed reading it!

O.A. Hawthorne chapter 1 . 11/27/2017
If only the atrocity that is the Return to Labyrinth graphic novels didn’t exist.

This would be my choice for official sequel. My god, this was amazing. I love you.
FaithatHeart chapter 24 . 7/25/2017
This was written so well I felt like I was reading the movie sequel. My brain is exploding with praise and happiness right now but it is 1am and I don't know how to put it into words. Just know that this story is a work of art and I will certainly not forget. Thank you 3
Aki chapter 24 . 6/21/2017
Beautiful story. It was richly detailed - the character development, the riddles, the Labyrinth's origins, the creatures' origins, long/short days, the mini challenges... I really appreciated having Sarah's rational reasoning through it all, too. This was such a pleasure to read. Thank you!
Mistress DragonFlame chapter 24 . 11/22/2016

BookEatingCthulhu chapter 1 . 8/13/2016
This is my favorite Laby story. I just finished it.. Thank you. The characters have depth, the emotion is real, my heart actual clenches when I get to the angsty bits. I wish there were more stories, I'd just drink them in as fast as my little eyes could read.
WhenasInSilks chapter 24 . 6/12/2016
Okay, this took me WAY longer to finish than I anticipatd (gah! real life!) but at last, review:

First, this is one of the most *adult* fanfictions I've ever read, Labyrinth or no. And I mean that in a very positive way-confident, clearly defined, well developed characters who are self-aware and striving to better themselves. I love Labyrinth fanfiction inasmuch as it is fantasy, because I find it's extremely rare that writers can write a relationship between Sarah and Jareth which is whole and healthy by normal, real world standards while still keeping them in character. Except you've done just that. You have walked that tightrope, and walked it with grace and APLOMB. Hats off.

Your Jareth I thought was especially impressive-there's a bit more leeway with Sarah, because she's only a kid in the movie and authors can choose to grow her up in different ways. But *Jareth*-somehow you've managed to include all his faults-his vanity, his selfishness-while still making him a sympathetic character who is worthy of Sarah.

I was keeping a document full of details that I loved so I could include them in the review at the end, and then I lost that, so this is from memory and there were way more little bits that I liked that I'm not listing here, but:
-the engima sprites. both their name and what they are. especially the name though.
-the whole thing about people turning into whatever jives with the dominant aspects of their personality. so original, and it works so well with the fairytale nature of the labyrinth, taking inspiration from moralistic fairytales and then taking away the moralistic aspect-it just works so well as worldbuilding. and then the struggle for Jareth to mature, because he has to stay his same all the time.
-the fact that the goblin king is a cuddler. Hah!
-I really liked the wager based on the Russian fairytale. I don't know why exactly-it was just one of the most vivid scenes in the story and I just felt totally immersed in the world. also love how Sarah just slightly overturns things wherever she goes.
-her gift to him was gorgeous.
-smut with character development: beautiful. nailed it.
-dat ending tho. love love LOVE the ending-"I love you, but you are not my dream." Like, way to sweep the awards for strong female character. I also loved how Jareth recognized that actually this was a really, really good thing-he wanted her to live for more than love alone. Again with the healthy relationships!

Also, thank you for introducing me to David Bowie's Peter and the Wolf. Such utter delight.

In conclusion, this was wonderful, and I can't wait to get started on the sequel!
