Daryl runs into The Governor while outside the prison. Notes: I don't know what this is really. A bit of a nothing one shot that's not really at a satisfying ending but it'll do. It just needed to be written. (I marked this h/c, but it's probably lacking the comfort if I'm honest).

It's about life beyond Merle, beyond Rick and the group. Because for the first time in his life, Daryl's starting to wonder what it is he really wants, and who he really wants to be.

She could never escape the shadow of her past so easily as having her vile husband dead in the ground, he would always be just behind her in a way that the others and their normal lives wouldn't understand. Not like he did. Daryl/Carol friendship, can be seen as a starting place for more. One shot for now.
