STORIES IN PROGRESS:

The Next Great Adventure -- (Harry Potter/Warcraft) -- I haven't given up on this story, but that muse ran away and left me with the distraction of a couple of her sisters that refused to stop running roughshod on my mind until I did some significant work on them. I will get back to it (soon I hope), but until then, please be patient during this trying time. Currently working on Karazhan.

Complications Of A Vegas Wedding -- (Harry Potter/DC Universe) -- This story might not be receiving regular updates, but I'm still working on it. Another story currently has quite a bit of my attention (Thank you so very much, muses) and that's taking up some of the time I would usually spend on this. It's not forgotten or abandoned, though, and I have several pieces for the next few chapters already written, I just need to connect it all together, which is harder than it sounds.

Becoming Mr. Black -- (Harry Potter) -- The story that currently has my attention, this came about from me reading Rorschach's Blot's Make A Wish and Mjimeyg's Potter's Protector and their related stories. My personal spin on making a 'Mr. Black', it's finally being written instead of bouncing around in my head like a ping pong ball.

Endless Wondering -- (Harry Potter/Warehouse 13) -- This one is just for fun and just because I can. I wanted to see if I could merge the two universes successfully, and maybe I have, we'll see. This is a story that will have mostly shorter chapters and random updates as well as I finish them.

Life In Moments -- (Stargate Atlantis) -- Not really getting a lot of attention, but it's getting pieced together a little at a time as I can.

The Curious Case of Pete Lattimer -- (Warehouse 13) -- The continuation of my You Can't Handle the Truth/Dreamcatcher arc. Not getting a lot of attention, but it's in the works.

STORIES IN PROGRESS WITH NO TITLE:

HP/DG Story -- ( Harry Potter) -- No real plot or outline for this idea other than Harry and Daphne getting together, just bits and bobs of things to use for it. Being developed as time allows.

Castle/HP Crossover -- The tagline for this is 'It all started with a murder'. Same as above.

Warehouse 13/HP Crossover -- One where Harry is recruited as an agent working at the warehouse, trying to hide his magic from everyone, and still figure out how artifacts are created. Being developed as time allows.

Sekirei/HP Crossover -- To be honest, I only started this to try my hand at it after reading plums' version, The Wizard Ashikabi. Not really getting much focus, but it is in production, I suppose, so it should go on the list.

I'm pretty picky about what shows and things I'll write about, but then again, who isn't? If you have a question, just ask. If you just want to talk, I'll listen. It's a bit difficult to offend me, so don't worry. :)

The Situation in Hell

The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I go out with you", and take into account the fact that I went out with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct . . . leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."
