NOVEMBER 2018

11/21 Posted a new chapter for Bonds of Love- over 5600 words! Working on new chapters for The Promise and Leather and Lace. A very Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. I'm so thankful for my readers, I continue to be blessed by your encouragement and support of my writing. :)

OCTOBER 2018

New chapter update posted for Bonds of Love- a lot has been added from its original version. Poor Lance has a bit of a bad time in this outing, but I hope everyone else will enjoy it. ;) I've started the rewrite for the next one, and then I may be taking a hiatus from Voltron for a bit...

...which brings me to my incredible and loyal Fushigi Yugi readers. Please know that my incomplete stories are NOT going to be abandoned, they will be updated before years' end (purposely being vague so as not to jinx a deadline!) Thank you for your patience and your lovely reviews and messages -I've been hearing from many of you that you have taken my stories to heart. I can't adequately express how much that means to me to hear that after all this time. And my red headed muse is telling me (well, more like *Demanding*) I give the writing spotlight back to Tasuki and Miaka. :D

Author's Note

Anyone who's ever written a paper in college/university knows the most egregious error a student writer can make is not to cite a source when presenting another author's thoughts and ideas in one's own writings. Failure to do so can result in charges of plagiarism, a failing grade from the prof, or in some cases, outright expulsion from the school. No one wants a misunderstanding when it comes to plagiarism. It's why print published authors have acknowledgments in their books, and writers of fan fiction make sure to always post a disclaimer and credit citations for the originator/creators/authors of the series and characters that their fan fictions are based upon. Doing so ensures that an author can continue to write fanfiction in good standing instead being served with a cease and desist order from the original source.

For me, it stands to reason that the same caution and professional courtesy in avoiding plagiarism applies to anyone using other fanfic authors' original characters/ideas/dialogue in their own story. I will always acknowledge people, ideas and stories that have sparked my muses. Bottom line: using another person's words and ideas without acknowledging them as their intellectual property is not 'flattery by imitation'; it's dishonest, disrespectful and theft of hard work.

If anyone would like to use any of my original story concepts for their own stories, that's wonderful. All I ask is that you please do the right thing and ask/run it by me first, and then properly cite me as a source of prose/ideas/inspiration when the story is posted. Theft of my ideas sucks the joy from writing- from the bottom of my heart, I thank the many authors past, and present for their courteous, kind requests and proper credit citations. :)

MARCH 2014

Writing fell by the wayside when my husband had a small stroke two days before Christmas. It was caused by CHF (congestive heart failure) which in itself was caused by a viral infection of the heart muscle. Drs. thought non invasive meds would help, but sadly my hubby got worse. We came very close to losing him in January- six episodes of sudden cardiac death in two days, and we were given a chance for a second life together when he received a defib/pacemaker implant. With that and his medications, he is doing much better...the thinking is that his heart will be able to heal so that it will work more efficiently and regain close to normal function. There's no magic ball, no guarantees, but his doctors are very encouraged by the great progress he has made. Taking nothing for granted, each day with him is a gift.

And now, as my beloved has returned to work after close to three months, I have started to want to write again. Hoping to have something to post, not sure what it will be, but at this point, I see any update as a victory. :)
