About Me: I am legally deaf, and have been my whole life. I spent a good amount of my childhood learning how to lip read and speak – courtesy of my mother – so most people never even realize that I can't hear them. I inherited my being deaf from my father, who is not only deaf but a mute. When I was young, I was very close to my mother. But, when I turned 6, she and my older brother and sister died in a car accident. So it's been just me and Dad ever since.

For as long as I can remember, I've always been the shy girl. In elementary school, I tended to close myself off from everyone and study all the time (not exactly the most normal thing, I realize). I ended up skipping four grades. I was enrolled at Dartmouth College (it's in New Hampshire), but personal reasons have brought me back to Canada. I'm taking the semester off and searching for a new college. I'm a Biology major and I minor in English Literature. I'm a major book-nerd; you'll never see me without my nose buried in a book.

Interests: Reading, writing, playing on the computer, watching anime, reading manga, playing soccer, lacrosse, frisbee, basketball, swimming, watching House and Criminal Minds (Best. Shows. Ever.), and school (yes, I am aware that makes me sound like a nerd).

Ambitions: To become either a surgeon ("Bring on the blood and guts!" – Bella) or an author. I also want to travel the world, stay awake for 48 hours, ride roller-coasters until I throw up, become fluent in three different languages, be able write with both hands (ambidextrous), learn to play the piano, and go skydiving.
