Author has written 32 stories for Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. (05/25/20) Hello. :p Just some adjusting of my profile to cut out all the stuff that was starting to annoy me. Sorry I sucked out all the creativity and this looks like a resume and cover letter, but I know from experience that nobody bothers to read all the extra stuff. We just scroll past it; as we should, because I distinctly remember extremely long lists about anything from StarClan's "rules" to "if you don't put this on your profile you're a RACIST," which is all kind of ridiculously funny in retrospect. Every once in a while I come back and try to figure out what exactly I did during those years here and the answer is never really clear. I genuinely can't remember a lot of it, which makes me sad. I knew I should've done those weird memory puzzles to strengthen recollection. Maybe I should be doing them now. Anyway, I always circle back here, so if you need to say anything to me (PMs or otherwise), I'll eventually see it! As I said in the message below this one, "If you want to talk about anything at all, also feel free to PM me! I still get notifications and I love talking to the people here; you're all so nice. :)" ~ Lumosify P.S. I made an AO3 account like I claimed I would in the cover letter down below (I should stop with this joke). Actually, I'm pretty sure I had one already, but it was a throwaway which is why I made it seem like I didn't have one at all? Anyway, my new, actual one has been up for a year or so. it's totally different fandoms though. Anyway, like I said below, PM me for the link. Unless you are my irls because I see you guys in person and I don't think I could handle the vulnerability unless we are absolutely in the same ficreading boats, which I can't determine with current information (wait, yes I can, sort of. that's why I'm not revealing anything [I've already messed up a couple times but I'm doubly careful now]). Arguably it's an act of love. We separate our selves to hide our selves from our other selves' friends to what, protect them, is that it? It's almost 7 am and I'm rambling. I'll sleep now. (11/15/18) hi!! it's lumosify :D I kinda went missing for like...four-ish years, huh? I'm changed a lot since then, and I guess what came along with that was a change in interests and fandoms. Don't get me wrong, I still love Harry Potter and the occasional HP fic now and then (same goes for all the other fandoms I was involved in back then), but I have all these new interests, fandoms, hobbies, and so on. Each year a new hobby catches my eye, and it's been hard balancing all of those things in combination with my academic life and other pursuits. I dropped writing because I did not have time for it, and the newer hobbies I had acquired were also more convenient and publicly acceptable (by that I mean: it's really awkward to write fanfiction next to other people). I really do want to get back into writing, and for all I know I might end up writing a Harry Potter fic or PJO fic or Warriors fic, but all the ideas I have right now are for a different fandom. As such, this account is somewhat like an archive of my writing 'mindscape' back in 2014, and less reflective of me as I am now. I will likely be abandoning this page. (I kind of already have.) I am so so so grateful for all the time I spent here, I was really able to cultivate what I might consider to be the first hobby I ever took seriously; that will always mean so much to me. I still get notifications for the forum threads I used to frequent, and story updates from the authors I absolutely adored. I also get messages alerting me that people are still following and favorite-ing my stories, and regardless of however bad those stories may seem to me now, it really warms my heart to know that people are getting some enjoyment out of the stuff I worked so hard to write. When I get reviews, I am so excited to read them. Even if they're critical, I still get so nostalgic and still appreciate that they took the time to read my story. This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to write again, after abandoning the craft for so long. I am planning to move to AO3 (because, let's be honest, this site is basically a sinking ship and where are the people running this place??? they obviously don't care about us anymore). It will be under a new username and I will probably cut off all ties with this account. That said, if anyone would like to find me there, please PM me! I haven't made the account yet, because I'm super indecisive about usernames (and also AO3's super long approval[?] process), but I hope to be there soon! If you want to talk about anything at all, also feel free to PM me! I still get notifications and I love talking to the people here; you're all so nice. :) best wishes!! lumosify p.s. might update profile again, but this is it for now Awards and Recognition: Confession was selected as the Beater 1 Judge's Pick for Round 10 of the Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition. Taking Action earned a place in The Hall of Fame: Story of the Week thread on Diagon Alley II. (The Lady Arturia wrote a review for it [and I'm forever grateful Arty ;-;]. I eventually wrote Excessively Generous for her as a temporary team member in the New Years Event: Grand Battle Challenge on the same forum.) Cents Make No Bloody Sense was nominated for Best Humor in the 2014 Hallows Awards on Diagon Alley II. Forums: I, Lumosify, have challenged myself! I'm proud to be a part of the HPFC forum. I am proud to be a student of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft Wizardry (Challenges Assignments) forum! I, Lumosify, have challenged myself! I'm proud to be a waterbender on the AtLAFC forum. I'm a proud member of the Tutshill Tornadoes on the Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition forum! May the odds be ever in our favor. :P I am proud to be a member of the Diagon Alley II forum! Some Awesome People: Hollyleaf1243 - The first person I PMed with (and since then we've discovered we're extremely similar). We met through my first Warriors fanfiction (a collab). PhoenixPatronus - An absolutely AMAZING humor writer with a passionate love-hate-thing for Turkish education systems. We met through her story (humor and romance, an unstoppable combination) and although we don't talk as much, we tend to blame the Turkish education system for that. The May Waters - A Hinny shipper, a Jily shipper, and my rant buddy! We met through her stories. We rant all the time about whatever we hate, and then we try to convince each other to like certain characters or certain pairings. It doesn't really work, but we get some serious character analyzing done. I could write an essay with everything I'm written to her, seriously. Michal - We met through HPFC, and aside from being TZBs (Time-Zone Buddies), Michal invited me to be a part of the Tutshill Tornados in the third season of the QLFC. Javier - The dude whose arm has been injured from the time we met on HPFC (I kid you not), Javier here also likes Pretty Little Liars (something that just makes him 20% cooler), and has similar drawing problems. Oh, and his wifey Jinny reminds me of Ginny, which makes me think of Hinny, which just makes me happy in general, so that's cool too. Sunny - We met on ForeverClan! Sadly the forum has kinda died. But we have rather similar interests and we still talk, so it's all good. We bond over our mutual crazy complicated emotions. The Lady Arturia - Wrote a review for my fic, Taking Action, on Diagon Alley II's Hall of Fame thread. I'm forever grateful Arty. ;-; We became friends after that and I eventually wrote Excessively Generous for her as a temporary team member in the New Years Event: Grand Battle Challenge on the same forum. I'm combing our PMs right now and we were competing in the same season of QLFC too! A big thank you to all the readers, reviewers, followers, and favoriters out there! And lurkers :) -- Lumosify |
