10/1/2014 - A FOX'S TALE 2 FINISHED, SECRET PROJECT - 'RUKH FAILS' IN PROGRESS.

Finally got A Fox's Tale #2 done, now it just needs cover-art. I'm taking a bit of a break from my other fanfiction as a new idea has taken over my brain and is monopolizing my writing time of late. Like Titans Broken this story will be one I will post in it's entirety almost all at once. Right now I'm 6 chapters in and it's getting thicker all the time so expect it soon. Right now I'm calling it 'Rukh Fails' as a working title. It's Star Wars fanfiction, so get ready for it.

6/23/2014 - VALKYRIE: CANDIDATES PRICE REDUCED - A FOX'S TALE 2 NEARLY FINISHED.

Well, after a bought of relative inactivity I've been pressing forward on the second book in the A Fox's Tale series. It's been tough going, and I've suffered quite a bit of writers block in the process, but most of it's written. As I finish it up, I decided to drop the price of VALKYRIE: Candidates down to the $0.99 mark. I've also been doing work on a couple stories that will be aimed at more traditional publishers.

I'll also be running a free ebook day for all my stuff on July 4th.

10/21/2013 - THE GREATEST GAME: CANDIDATES LAUNCHED

My third original series: THE GREATEST GAME is tentatively scheduled to launch on October 13th. Then I'll be working on the second installment of A Fox's Tale for a November release, and the second installment of VALKYRIE: Into the Heavens will be released in December, if all goes according to plan.

As before, Fanfiction updates will be released to coincide with these releases, so you can expect updates for Boys und Sensha-do!, One World, and Sword and Shield on the 13th.

9/1/2013 - VALKYRIE #1 DELAYED TO 9/8/2013

What can I say? I seem to have picked up the local illness. Along with the cover art for my next book taking a bit longer then I planned... I decided to delay the release of VALKYRIE #1: Candidates to the 8th. Once again, this means that I'm holding off on all fanfiction updates until the 8th as well, as I plan to have them coincide with releases now. Thank you for your understanding and waiting.

8/20/2013 - PRICE REDUCTION ON A FOX'S TALE

After sales of my first book dipped over the last week or so, I decided to reduce the price for the story. A Fox's Tale: The Warden's Daughter is now available for the minimum for 70% royalties, if I cut it any further I will receive less than half of that. The new price for "A Fox's Tale: The Warden's Daughter" is $2.99 USD, 1.49 GBP in the United Kingdom, 2.60 Euro across Europe, and 250 yen in Japan. The actual list price may vary slightly due to adding a 'delivery charge' to the price based on the file size.

8/20/2013 - VALKYRIE #1 and FANFICTION UPDATE

As Valkyrie #1 - Candidates approaches completion (I have to do the cover, a polish, and some final tweaks). I think I'll explain what will happen now with my fanfiction account and the stories posted here. I will not be abandoning anything, instead... Well, I plan to release fanfiction at the same time as my original fiction goes live on Amazon, sort of like as a promotion. All current projects will be updated at that time (I'm hoping for a September 1st launch). Which means you'll be getting new chapters for: Boys und Sensha-dō!, Earth-16 Go!, Infinite Rebellion: Breaking Free, One World, Sword and Shield: Volume #2: A Family Visit, The Outlaws, The Raven, and Titans Reimagined. I would restart Mass Effect: Break the Cycle and Standard of the Stars if I had time, but I don't. In addition I will be launching a number of complete fanfiction stories from EVE Online which have never been seen before on Fanfiction.net (You may have seen them on the EVE Forums or my blog before).

I ask everyone that has supported me here to spend a couple dollars, quid, euros, yen, or whichever form of currency it is that you use on launch day to buy my book and help propel it up so that others might be suggested to buy it. Thank you for your help.

8/8/2013 - ORIGINAL BOOK LAUNCHED

Thursday, around midnight I pressed the button in Kindle Direct Publishing. Being sleepy, I missed a typo (already fixed) that, and watched as the various gerbils spun in their wheels at and converted the html document I'd uploaded into an ebook. This was the end of a month long collaborative effort between me and my sister, whom I had commissioned to create the cover.

The first book in my series, "The Fox's Tale" went live by noon. It's currently available for $3.95 in the United States. On August 9th, starting at 12:00 PM, it will be free for a Launch Promotion until August 13th. I encourage all who have supported me in becoming a writer, my family, parents, mentors, teachers, and all my followers on fanfiction, twitter, blogger, tumblr, and facebook to take advantage of the promotion, read the book, and write a review. The more responses, reviews, and downloads I can obtain over the next week or so are likely to greatly determine how well the book does in it's initial run before the arrival of it's sequel.

From this point on, I plan to have a book released every two months or so. Releases will be on a tumble schedule between three series that I plan on running simultaneously. This is to keep me from burning out writing any one series for a drawn out period of time (A Fox's Tale is likely to be a very long running series with the current plot I've sketched out). I will have one Fantasy Series (A Fox's Tale), one Science Fiction Series (VALKYRIE), and one Alternate History Series (The Greatest Game) running simultaneously, and my next story (VALKYRIE #1) is nearing complete as I type.

Biography: Who am I? My real name is Paul Naughton, I'm a twenty-seven year old man living in Nebraska. I graduated from Fremont High School in 2004, where I wrote my first book Stellar Magic: The Merlin Academy. It is from that book and the universe that it created in my mind that my user name is derived. In 2008 I graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont Nebraska with a BFA in English. In 2009 I entered the strenuous Writing for Popular Fiction Program at Seton Hill University. I graduated in 2013 with a MFA in Creative Writing.

Writing is my life, reading is my life. I write on average over 2,000 words a day, and sometimes as much as two or three times that amount. I spend the vast majority of my time outside of that either working as tutor for a pittance or reading. Occasionally I have dabbled into such varied fields as Game Modification (Modding), pen and paper RPGs, EVE Online, and various other forms of gaming.

I must stress that my fanfiction is not a job, it's something I do for free and never represents a truly finished or polished product. I spend much more time cleaning up and revising works for publication. A Fox's Tale Novel Series

A YA/Fantasy Series which focuses on the life of Ember Wülf, who takes the name the Fox as she grows older. The entire story is told within the frame of the Chronicler Marcus Minev meeting and writing down the stories Ember and her strange band of companions relay to him.

Book 1 - The Warden's Daughter

Synopsis: Ten years ago, the most powerful Lord of the Northern Nations died at the hands of a woman known only as the Fox.

Marcus Minev, a chronicler from the nation of Ossetia has set out to find the legendary figure. What he finds is a young woman with a story of loss, hardened by her life, living in the small town of Vulpindel. It was then that he learned the truth, straight from the woman’s mouth.

Ember Wülf, the girl that would eventually be known as the Fox, her journey began as nothing more than a scared girl with a gift for magic. Then she was known by another name. She was the Warden's Daughter. Ember tells the start of her story, of how she was captured by Rodric the Raven, a Knight of the Order of the Dragon under Lord Drake, as a teenager, and her escape with the help of Johnathan Silber, an apprentice blacksmith and fellow magical talent.

Marcus is left with a puzzle which he has only been given the first handful of pieces for. How could the lively teen from the story become the legendary Fox have turned into the brusque hard woman of the present day? Marcus soon realizes there is a great deal more to the woman’s tale then he previously thought.

VALKYRIE: Into the Heavens Light Novel Series

Earth is threatened by an alien race with superior biology and technology to our own. In order to defeat them, Humanity launches Project Valkyrie. It's aim, to produce a class of starship capable of defeating the alien fleets. To do so requires the use of neural interfaces where the pilot becomes one with the ship itself. Unfortunately no adult can interface with the systems without getting a neural overload, so the fate of the Human race falls into the hands of a select group of teens.

Volume #1 - Candidates

Synopsis: 2163, it has been twelve years since the Ixo first attacked Earth, killing millions and igniting the first interstellar war. In order to reverse a series of defeats, the United Nations launches Project Valkyrie. They select four teens from across the globe and bring them together to train them to become the first of a new type of soldier: the pod pilot.

A brilliant teen orphan, Daniel Logan is conscripted into the unit, along with Michiko Hoshimoto a fellow teen with a competitive streak and fiery temper. He shares dorm space with the other two candidates: Svetlana Gurevich and Rosa Löwe. Danny’s skills earn him respect in the simulators with all save Michiko, who accuses him of cheating. At the same time he harbor’s a terrible secret.

Can those candidates put aside their issues with one another to save Humanity from extermination at the hands of the Ixo? Humanity is well on the way to losing the war without them, and the Project is lagging behind with only two ships available for testing. Volume #2 - Pallas

Synopsis: 2163, the war between Earth and the Ixo drags onward. The pilots of Project Valkyrie are sent to 2 Pallas, an asteroid in the inner solar system to defend a science station working to trace the Ixo attacks back to their homeworld.

The four teenagers that pilot the next generation ships known as Interceptor Frigates are all but swallowed up by the Valkyrie program as engineers and technicians try to improve upon the designs after each engagement. Despite all of the stress of deployment, Daniel Logan and Michiko Hoshimoto try to find ways to relax amidst the chaos and keep themselves from becoming a danger to each other and the rest of the project.

The four teen pilots of the new 1st Interceptor Squadron are quickly thrown into battle against the Ixo as the alien fleets continue their relentless assault on Earth. As the Ixo introduce a series of far larger and more powerful vessels into the war, the teen pilots of the 1st Interceptor Squadron find themselves being thrown into the midst of a struggle between titans.

THE GREATEST GAME Light Novel Series

What if Wiemar Republic walked out of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 and the Great War began anew without either side being aided by the United States? FULL METAL PANIC

Sword and Shield Series

A continuation of the Full Metal Panic storyline after the light novels, Sword and Shield focuses on the effort to keep the Whispered out of government hands and actually falls back on many of the same ideas that inspired the original series. It is written with a more realistic interpretation of the world closer to the light novels then the anime, as a result many of the volumes are much more like Geopolitical Thrillers then the straight up anime style robot smash ups.
