Author has written 17 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, Avengers, and Captain America. Hello and welcome. I am theoriginalbookthief07. I am: female, I live abroad, and I teach English for a living. If you're into Myers-Briggs stuff, I'm an ENFP. I have a blog that the chronicles the good, the weird, and the hard of living overseas, if you are interested (take out spaces): https:// teachthinkwrite. school. blog/ For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read, and that love translated into writing when I was about ten. I am a fan of storytelling of all kinds, be it books, movies, TV shows, plays, or (big surprise) fan fiction! Most important, I am a Christian. Unfortunately, that word has been twisted and misused many times over the centuries, until it has lost much the power it ought to possess. For that, I am sorry. If you want a good definition, google “The Apostle’s Creed,” and you’ll know where I stand, for the most part. Any other questions and you should just PM me. My faith spills into my stories. That's just the way it works. People have said that my stories are hopeful, or have a lot of "feels," and those things are informed by what I believe and the God that I love. This world is dark, but there is always hope, always love, always faith. Friendship is awesome. Forgiveness heals wounds. Kindness goes a long way. People are valuable and worthy of respect. ALL PEOPLE. If I can brighten someone's day and point them in the direction of the God who loves them by what I write, then that makes all my late-night brainstorming and feverish typing worth it. I write because I love it, and when I do, I feel the pleasure of God. I discovered fan fiction when I was thirteen and have waded through the good, the bad and the pitiful on this site ever since, enjoying myself for the most part. For years I lurked in the shadows, reading much and reviewing little, until a plot bunny for the Avatar: TLA fandom grabbed me and didn’t let go. Unfortunately, after writing two one-shots, I entered a season where my time was taken up by more important things, so writing took a backseat. I am still not sure when/if I will complete that story cycle. Sorry to all those who enjoyed Scarred and Accepted and Permission Granted so much, but I appreciate your feedback from the bottom of my heart. You gave an insecure writer the boost she very badly needed! When Avengers: Age of Ultron came out, I finally worked up the courage to write a story that I had had in mind ever since the FIRST Avengers' movie came out. I had seen several “Tony Stark has a long-lost child” fics or “Natasha Romanoff has a secret child” fics, but very few for Steve Rogers. Which was annoying, because Steve is my unabashed favorite out of the Avengers, and he seems like the type to be a good dad. So, I decided to write a story in which he adopted a child. This “idea” morphed into a full-fledged series that I have dubbed the ChristyVerse. It is ongoing and sort of rolls with the punches of whatever the MCU dishes out. Since its' very premise is non-canonical, I feel a freedom to pick and choose which canon I will abide by. (This is FAN fiction after all.) So far, that means: Steve has an adopted daughter named Christy, Loki gets a mini redemption arc, Bucky was found shortly after CA: Winter Soldier and rehabilitated, Clint has a "secret" family that isn't so secret to the Avengers crew, Pietro didn't die in Age of Ultron (YOU HAVE A REGENERATION CRADLE YOU DOLTS! HE WAS THE BEST PART OF AoU!), Bucky got mind therapy after Civil War thanks to Wanda, and everybody actually talked out their issues after Civil War and are more-or-less on speaking terms. Tony and Pepper get married slightly earlier than in canon, Steve and Sharon Carter (who actually has a personality in my stuff...I'm not salty, you're salty) are dating, Bucky and Wanda are dating (a development that surprised even me...), and Bruce and Natasha get together in a nice slow burn that actually makes sense (THANK YOU SO MUCH JOSS WHEDON, KING OF "LET'S JUST THROW THIS IN WITH NO DEVELOPMENT WHATSOEVER) and also adopt themselves some kids. Infinity War and Endgame still happen...but some things are NOT the same (COUGH COUGH A SOUL FOR A SOUL NAT IS BACK COUGH COUGH). You can definitely tell the evolution of my writing throughout this 'Verse, since I first started this my freshman year of college and now I have a job and live in Asia. My writing has certainly improved. My two favorite stories written vary between Never Meant for You to Fix Yourself and Tales From the River of Truth. I consider "Tales..." my magnum opus of sorts...although with my Infinity War and Endgame fix-its on the horizon, that may soon change. But I love this universe and while my time for writing may not be as much now as it was in college, I don't plan to abandon it any time soon. UPDATE 3/2/20: I've been on-and-off a lot lately, and I apologize to all my readers. I'm really going to try and keep things more consistent, at least one post a month, if not two. It's just very hard to write and teach at the same time. Thank you for your patience. UPDATE: 8/29/20: After a lot of start and stops, I am finally beginning to write and post the last major story (for now...) of the ChristyVerse, "We Didn't Start the Fire". It covers the events of Infinity War, Endgame, and beyond. Check it out! THE CHRISTYVERSE (Bold means complete, or complete for now.) Post-Avengers up to Winter Soldier: Wait for It: "If there's a reason I'm still alive when everyone who loves me has died, I'm willing to wait for it." Chronicling the twin heartaches of a man out of time, and a newly-orphaned little girl. Backstory for Christy. We Can Be Found: The one that started it all. "When a man out of time meets a seven year old girl in foster care and realizes he doesn't want to live life alone, he adopts a child." I Dream Things That Never Were (And Ask Why Not): Because no one is born evil and Loki needs to deal with his issues. Alas, Thou Hast Misconstrued Everything!: Thor wants to clear up some discrepancies about a certain Norse Myth. Loki is being Loki and the rest of the Avengers are amused and confused. Lookin’ At Life Through My Own Eyes: Little snapshots of life in Avengers' Tower in the time between The Avengers and Winter Soldier Post-Winter Soldier to Post-Age of Ultron: Never Meant For You To Fix Yourself: Rehabilitating a brainwashed assassin takes work. Luckily, all the Avengers are willing to help. The War Outside Our Door Keeps Ragin’ On: Chronicling life for the Avengers' Psuedo-Family all the way past Age of Ultron. Introducing: the Maximoff twins and Clint's family. A World of Hope: The Avengers plus Disney World. Pure, pure fluff. Civil War and Reconstruction: Tales from the River of Truth: "What starts like a scary tale ends like a fairytale..." In which superheroes fight, snark, meet new friends, make up, fall in love, and live. In the Shadow of the Panther: "Deleted Scenes" from Team Cap's time in Wakanda, during "Tales..." Will likely remain a two-shot unless an idea hits hard. We'll Take a Cup of Kindness Yet: 2016 was a year of fights, rifts, and some making up. In the waning hours of the year, conversations are had and future plans are announced. As the ball drops on a new year, everyone hopes for peace. Love is for Children: How a scientist with a green side and a former assassin became "doctors without borders" and somehow ended up adopting two Indian siblings. To Infinity (War) and Beyond: Days in the Sun: Before the storm, there is always a calm. The Avengers, rogue and regular, are determined to make the most of it before something else goes wrong. In hindsight, everything was bathed in sunshine. But while it happened, it was just life. We Didn't Start the Fire: One Mad Titan, with a mad dream. One team of fractious, stubborn, Avengers. Several spanners in the works. And the fate of the universe hanging in the balance. They might not have saved the world in time, but they're definitely going to avenge it. Told in two parts: --Hold On To This Lullaby: Natasha knew something was wrong when Bruce didn't come home that night. But she didn't realize how wrong until he crashed back, as the Hulk, with none other than Loki in tow. The universe is in danger; heroes must arise. And when the dust settles, some are fallen. --Even When the Music's Gone: "Thanos tried to take away our music, but the joke's on him. We can still sing." In the wake of a global catastrophe, the Avengers are searching for a new normal, until a friend from the past gives them news that shakes them to the core. Now, it's up to those that remain to mend what has been shattered. The ending will surprise them all. I, Too, Sing America: Sam and Bucky talk in the wake of Steve giving up the shield for good, and the reasoning behind his choice of successor. If Anyone Fights Any One of Us (He's Got a Fight With Me): The Avengers are not happy with J Jonah Jameson after the events of Far From Home. (One-shot) On Their Own (One-Shot Collections that Span the 'Verse): Christmas is Coming: What it says on the tin. Christmas and New Years stories spanning all through this 'Verse. If you read all THAT, I congratulate you! Keep on the lookout for any new postings. And remember, kids: “Always be yourself. Unless you can be Captain America. Then, always be Captain America.” |
