Author has written 25 stories for Hogan's Heroes, and Fugitive, 1963.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Hofbrau...

I'm an ex-freelance journalist with a special love for fiction and for Hogan's Hereos. In my teens, I married the two as an outlet from school and nearly 10 years later, I've found myself coming full circle with fanfiction.net and the wonderful HH community of writers. I hope I can contribute something to the world they've created.

To give you an idea of my writing style, I tend to favour first person perspectives from original or canon characters. That said, I will write in third person focusing on canon characters when I get an idea I like and hope to publish more of them in the future.

Also, you'll probably notice my stories feature a lot of music. I come from a musical house (where having the radio off is like not breathing) and I have a passion for almost all music, especially big band from the late 30s and early 40s, so if I can work music in while keeping a story realistic, I'll probably do it. I also have a passion for researching history and old radio and movies, which has helped give me a feel for the Second World War era.

I've written fan fiction in the past, particularly for Hogan's Heroes, some of which makes me shudder when I reread it, but isn't that the way it is for everyone? :) I got away from it in my teens when life had other ideas for me. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I even started watching Hogan's Heroes, and only recently, have come back to fanfiction with more knowledge (hopefully ;) than when I started.

I began as a reader, and, after talking with Konarciq , I realized it was time to start writing again and, while pondering how little back story the Heroes actually have and how their families remembered them before the war, I was introduced to Betty Carter, Marcella Lebeau, Mavis Newkirk, Anne Kinchloe and Margaret Hogan. Each has made me laugh, cry, and most of all, inspired me. Their stories have become the subject of a series of short stories: The Sisterhood of War. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have reading your stories.

Since then, I've moved into more traditional HH fare, and even poetry. (Never saw that coming.) Expect to read more of it from me once I finish the Sisterhood series.

To everyone, registered or annoymous, who've sent me words of encouragement and commented on my stories, poetry/songfic, submissions to Snooky's Letters story, my Klink limerick for Marie's Menagerie of Poetry and my chapters for FanFic Court II: This Time It's Personal!, thank you so much for all the feedback. I never imagined my work would generate this kind of response. I'm truly humbled.

Best wishes to you all,

CHF

One year later...

A special thank you to everyone who's read my stories from the beginning. It means more to me than words can say. Would you believe it's been almost a year since I posted my first fanfic? And, now, I've been nominated in a few Papa Bear Awards categories. Another thank you goes out to those whomever nominated me. I'm surprised and very pleased. It's really an honour just to be nominated.

Two years later...

Many thanks to everyone who read the few stories I published this year. Also, a huge thank you to everyone involved involved in the PBAs. I'm pleased to join the ranks of HH authors who've won PBAs, with my story Sister Carter and Sister Newkirk, which won silver for Best Short Comedy and Best Teaser. As well, I'm pleased to say my court testimony won bronze in the Best Defence In Fanfic Court. Again, thank you to everyone for reading! I hope to publish something new in the near future.

Three years later...

So much has happened, I can't even begin to tell you. I'm now working retail, I've gotten married, and my husband is very ill. I've had so little time to breathe, let alone write. Yet, I woke up this morning, finally feeling ready to try sharing stories. I hope you enjoy them. And I hope to be more active in reading other stories very soon. This is a great community. Bless you all.
