Hi! I'm Heaven's Archer, do call me Archer, or Ava. Any variation of those will work. I’m a University student in Australia, where I study Psychology. I’m 20 and have been writing and lurking on this site for about…6/7years now? My first ever fanfiction was my story ‘Starlit Destiny’, a Sailor Moon OC fanficion. I look back on that story and I can really see how much my writing has matured. It’s mostly why I keep it up, really. I like seeing where I’ve come from in relation to where I’m going (and looking back on it, it's one of those ones I cringe at because JFC, what was I thinking? Not a bad idea but definitely not the best writing I could have done...). The majority of my stories tend to be one-shots. Mostly because I hate leaving stories unfinished, and not writing chapter stories solves the writer’s block issue quite quickly. I have so many unfinished chapter stories on my harddrive that aren’t posted, not because I don’t think they’re up to standard, but because I doubt I’ll rediscover the inspiration to finish them off and I fell like I’m being cruel posting the tease. Another common factor in a lot of my stories is OC-centricism and headcanon work. I sometimes follow canon, but that’s rare as well. I know a lot of people won’t read my work because of that and I guess that’s fine, though I do wish they’d give it a go anyway. I never really liked the idea of sticking to 'canon', surely only the author's work is canon? All ours are simply fanfiction that relates to the original on a scale of AU to Follows the Books/movies. Most of my OC stuff these days (unposted mostly because ugh writers block) is background oc povs of Canon anyway, they don't tend to affect the storyline as we know it, just observe it, maybe have their own stuff happening alongside. Any way, most of you are probably here for sad avengers fics at this stage :P To those that do read my work, have I told you I love you lately? I appreciate the hits….I’m going to be greedy and ask for review/favourite/alert? I don’t really care if it’s a flame. I just like to know your opinions so I can improve. Feed the starving uni student, I live off alert emails. I love talking to people about these (as, especially the ones not including OCs are headcanons of mine). I love hearing people's opinions and debating over points! My fandoms jump with fancy. I am really all over the place. If I like it, it’s likely I have a story about it somewhere. Whether or not that is then posted…At the moment, it ranges between avengers, les miserables. I'm not posting huge amounts of work atm, especially not on this site. I have a fair few on archiveofourown that aren't on here, and I tend to post rambling headcanon/future stories on my tumblr as well (exactly the same as this one and heavensarcher respectively) I tend to be a more avid reader of this site, than a poster. I’ve probably lurked one of your stories. Especially if it's a HP/crossover I don't know what my obsession with those is but I have one. Other loves? Photoshop and music come to mind. Some inspirations? Um, of course music and mood (I write according to my mood…and my mood changes according to my music. I can seriously go from happy-go-lucky to weeping in a track change). All my friends on Tumblr/in RL are fantastic people who inspire me on a day by day basis (and in the instance of my friend, Courtney, threaten bodily harm) BETA-ING: I am currently not up to BETA stories. Uni is kicking my ass and stats is hard. For the sake of keeping the info here though: I have worked primarily with English-as-a-second language speakers, but am comfortable to beta for any writing background (as long as the basic grammar is there…) provided its about something I know. If you don’t know if I’ve read it, check out my favourite stories list (if you dare, that thing is getting freaking long) or just ask. I can’t help if I don’t know the fandom, since primarily my BETA tends to work with actual content as opposed to massive grammar revisions. But that I mean things like linking ideas, word choice, story flow, overall plot checking. Things like that. I am terrible at nitpicking, I can't even do that to my own work, please don't expect it. I still re-read and find at least one huge mistake on stories I've had finished for like 4years so. I tend to skip little things for the big picture, like some words mostly x.x my mind thinks too fast for my fingers. |
