I will still post on FFN but future work will be posted on both FFN and Archive. When it comes down to it I read stories because the summary managed to grab my attention and made me curious enough to read it. Though I continue to read the chaptered story or one-shot based on the path it takes from start to finish. So if it continues along a path I enjoy and make sense for the story I’ll continue with it and depending on how much I liked it I would add to my favorite/alert lists. With that said I’ve found that my tastes for certain stories or even fandoms can come and go when I do my own spring cleaning with my favorites and alert lists. This spring cleaning is where I begin to reread every story within my favorite/alerts list to determine that the story is something that I would still be inclined to follow or keep on my favorite lists. I’ve noticed that there are times in which a story I’ve removed does end up back on my favorite lists, it ultimately depends on my current feelings for the story/one-shot in question. Meanwhile I only write when I feel the urge do, which is usually occurs after I get an idea for a story or one-shot (mainly one-shot) and create it from top to bottom. However there are times when I get an idea but I ultimately decide not to pursue it for a variety of reasons. For example I’ve had a reoccurring idea where a character in Slytherin (Canon/OC/Cross over Character placed there) causes a revolution within the house to break it from the yoke of Voldemort and/or Snape and each time the idea becomes a retelling of the Darkspear Rebellion-True Horde (Hellscream Loyalists) conflict that happened to the Horde during the late stages of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Future Story Ideas Perspective Revised (iCarly): A retelling of perspective without the Uchiha concepts from Naruto so the only things it would share with the original perspective would be the character's actions in Truth. 40 Seconds (Death Note): A story detailing what each character was thinking as death claimed them. The Burning Sky (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!): The fire will not be contained and the seal placed upon Tsunayoshi Sawada breaks when he’s seven. Code Scarecrow (Code Lyoko/Doctor Who crossover): The Doctor discovers unusual readings at Kadic, while Ulrich becomes more curious and aware of the growing number of sinister scarecrows that Kadic is housing. Can the Doctor and Ulrich figure out what is going on or will darkness be fall Kadic. Untitled Project (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!/Naruto crossover): Ever since the sealing of his flames Tsunayoshi Sawada has been plagued by memories of another life and the life of a shinobi was never meant to be experienced by civilians. In which Obito Uchiha is reborn as Tsuna and Tsuna is forever changed by witnessing the cruelty of shinobi life. The Death Note Goes To (Death Note/Other Crossover): When the Death Note falls to Earth it's not picked up Light Yagami instead it's picked up by someone else. Basically a series of where different characters from other react to having the death note, this concept did ultimately create my one-shot "A Little Black Book." Untitled Project (Hey Arnold): With someone selling tickets for a fight between Helga and Gerald, it's up to Arnold to catch the culprit before Helga succumbs to what is being offered to her and turns deaf ears to Phoebe's pleas. Thoughts On: Creating an OC to join the main characters – while I understand the idea behind it, the fact remains that many of the fandoms have plenty of minor characters that could easily be used to fit the role. For example Code Lyoko has many minor characters that are not explored and thus for all tense and purposes are basically OCs when used in stories. Male Protagonist being born female – From what I understand this concept has become popular and I have to say that I’m of mixed opinion on it. One hand it is an interesting concept and I’ve seen authors who’ve done great with it. One the hand the vast majority of stories that I’ve read using this concept seem to do it in order pair two character together without the author having to write boy/boy. As such I’m somewhat wary of the concept but if the summary if intriguing enough I’m willing to see if the story in question is my cup of tea. Self-Inserts: While it is still a weird concept to me, I have found some of them beautifully well written. Though most don't keep my interest and thus it really depends on how the story can hold my attention to see if I'll continue following it. Betrayal Stories – These types of stories are one of the few that I actually avoid reading, regardless of any curiosity the summary might generate. The Naruto ones I read years ago went beyond my suspicious of belief to take the concept seriously enough and the few I was curious enough to try reading were just blatant character assassination (there is something fundamentally wrong about Brock being an evil dick to Ash). Manipulative Evil Dumbledore – I understand why it’s popular and have enjoyed a few stories with this element myself. My own personal opinion on Dumbledore is that he is someone who is so focused on the big picture that he completely loses sight on everything else and relies on too much on luck. In truth I just can't see him actually having the thought process to actually do something evil himself. Have evil shit happen through his inaction/actions...yes. Intentionally doing evil shit...no. Bashing and Sainting Characters – To be clear when I talk about bashing I’m not talking about when someone uses canonically elementals to bring a character down a peg or two. I’m talking about when someone just straight up destroys a character by amplifying their negative qualities and in some cases said character seems to just exist to experience humiliation conga after humiliation conga. Due to this I’ve come to find the extreme bashing that goes around to be rather unhealthy because it honestly seems that some authors are venting out their real-life hatred for people who don’t technical exist. With that said I’ve come to realize that people have their own definition of what bashing is, as I’ve noticed in a few stories where the authors warn that their bashing a certain character but I don’t personally see it as bashing. As such I tend to judge if a story I’m about to read will have what I consider bashing based on the character in question and the summary. Now on the flip side of bashing is the sainting of characters in which they are made to just be perfect and could do nothing wrong. It's annoying because characters have flaws and them overcoming them makes for a great story. At the same time it could also make them always right, even when they have done somewhat wrong or are just clearly in the wrong from a normal stand point but the authors makes them right for reasons that don't make sense. They will also blatantly ignore or pretend that the more dick moments of these characters never occurred. This can be blatantly seen in which those who saint Hermione never acknowledge that she basically felt to need to tell Harry that she was right about not trusting the "Half-Blood Prince" book information right after he had just seen Dumbledore die. But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true?" Merely vague concepts... their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"
