TO ALL REVIEWERS: If you PM me or leave reviews with corrections to chapters in any of my stories DO NOT just leave the correction. Provide the incorrect sentence (and the story & chapter if you PM me) otherwise I cannot find it, and correct it. It does not help me one bit if you just leave a correction that I am unable to place properly.

I am a Storyteller. I am not a canon or fanon fanatic. ALL of my stories are Alternate Universe in that they borrow characters, and events from the books, and the movies. It is my intention to tell YOU a story in order to entertain YOU. I do not mind corrections as long as you provide both incorrect sentence AND its correction.

I am American but my spelling, and much of my grammar is influenced by my mother who was raised in a very British household. She was also an English teacher. Please do not correct my spelling if it is British-spelled. If the word is simply wrong let me know but please do so politely.

I do try to keep the characters as close to in character as possible. After all, I wouldn't be dabbling with them if I didn't like the way the author created them in the first place, right?

Lucius Malfoy - I do not see him as a totally prejudiced, cruel, vicious Death Eater with no room for redemption. He is a man who loves his wife and son, unreservedly. Yes. He is a Death Eater. He appears cruel, one dimensional. However, JKR has said that Abraxas Malfoy was more cruel and heartless than Lucius ever could be. Lucius fell in love at Hogwarts. He married the youngest daughter of the Blacks. Pureblood tradition dictates (and this was so in Edwardian and Victorian times) that the youngest daughter could not marry before her elder sisters did. Lucius could not have wed as early as he did. However, he did so because he was in love. He and Narcissa very quickly had Draco. JKR has written that the Purebloods were so in-bred that it was unusual for them to have big families. The Weasleys were unusual with their seven children. Therefore, children were treasured in Pureblood families (as long as they were not Squibs).

Lucius and Narcissa doted on their only child. Lucius wanted a son who would be just like him.

Therefore, I see Lucius as a family man who was in difficult circumstances because of his father's ambitions. He was a Death Eater because his father was. With Abraxxas dead Lucius is doing everything to restore the Malfoy name and standing in the wizarding world. He is doing this in a Slytherin, underhanded way, a way that not everyone sees. Severus has seen the truth of Lucius and therefore is devoted to the whole family.

I will very rarely write an evil, deviant Lucius Malfoy.

A rant about how I write children: It seems I have to explain this, again. Harry is 4 years old. He is a wizard. While still with the Dursleys he took a childrens encyclopedia out of the garbage that had belonged to Dudley. Harry could not read. He dearly wanted to read the encyclopedia. He wished real hard and was able to read it. It was the only thing he had to read on his own time. He read it over and over. He learned about a lot of things, but only a summary of knowledge of each. Harry also learned to talk from the words he read so a lot of the time he sounds older than he is. Now, I am 56 years old. My parents gave us a series of childrens encyclopedias that we devoured words and pictures. I was 4 years old and my little brother was 2 years old. I loved all the knowledge about the Greek gods. My little brother, who was reading the encyclopedias, too, loved the information about horses. My brother stunned my grandfather who was calling all of the pictures ‘horsies’. My brother shook his head and then accurately identified each horse picture that was in his favourite encyclopedia. Children are much smarter than you think if they are given the tools to do so.

I am sorry for going off on this but it is a particular subject that gets to me everytime I am told by a reviewer that I am not making Harry act the right age. I base Harry’s actions on those I am familiar with. My little brother could read a childrens encyclopedia at 2. At 3 he memorized his favorite story Pooh & the Huffalump. At 4 he refused to go “underwear” shopping with mom. That was dad’s job. At 12 my little brother had taught himself to play Stairway to Heaven on an electric guitar with no speaker. That brother has a 4 year old son now who can identify the type of every car he owns and those he sees on the road.

I began full “adult” sentences at less than a year. I began reading at 4. I wrote my first school published story in 5th grade.

Very young kids are very intelligent and I write Harry Potter and his friends that way because I knew children that were like that.
