Hey! I'm Ashley, but some call me Benji (it's what the B stands for in my signature). I graduated from a four-year college with a BA in Psychology while working and playing volleyball. I now coach club volleyball and work as a behavioral therapist for kids on the Autism Spectrum. When I have time I love to write, it's my outlet for when things get to be too much in my life, and I'm told that if research on brain injuries doesn't work out, I should look into teaching writing and literature. Maybe I'll consider it ;) Anyway, I'm adopted so I've dealt with a lot of "other" in the world being biracial (a darker skin tone thanks to being half African-American, and having teal-colored eyes from being white) while also gay, and often write about people who are different. Most of what I write has some sort of tie back to something that happened in my own life; I think the best fiction has some connection to the author somehow to base the story off of. I put a lot of heart into what I write so I hope that you all find it entertaining and inspiring. When I lost the ability to play volleyball (my first passion) years ago, I turned to writing. Hopefully, if you're at this site, writing or reading does something similarly for you too. Enjoy!
