In one realm, Regina struggles to hold onto her son and make peace with her past. In another, Emma struggles. An interlude after Hearts Left Bleeding spanning the years until they meet again.

During an ambush gone wrong for outlaw Emma Swan, she meets a young Regina, on her way to an arranged marriage to the king. A friendship blossoms between them even as Regina begins to fall to dark magic and both are forced to make choices about who they're going to be- to each other and to themselves- and where they can possibly go from there.

Dark!Emma. With Neal's death, her parents' impending new baby, and the resurfacing of memories she isn't thrilled to have back, Emma begins a descent into darkness that no one wants to see or believe in. Except Regina, who knows better than anyone what despair and power can bring. Even to the savior. Even when Regina has her own battles to fight.

Destiny. That's what the Dark One tells them, an odd strain on his face whenever he speaks to Regina. That's what they're facing here. An inevitable ending. Regina has orchestrated her death once, and she'll do it again, because that's the only way this story can end. No one can interfere, not even Marian herself, and only Regina can control whether or not that moment is it.

"I am naked in our bed and there's a dog at the foot of it. How did he get in here?" A beat. "Emma. How did he get in here."

Emma hurts like a hurricane, hurtling devastation in every direction and spinning through life, refusing to dwell and leaving little lasting damage and then she's gone, vanished from the room with nothing but silence in her wake. She doesn't ask about the doctor this time, doesn't seek to find another way, and she doesn't look at Regina at all.

Set after 3b in a peaceful Storybrooke where Regina is with Robin and Emma's fallen into a relationship with Hook. Shame about all that subtext that's rapidly threatening to become text.

(immediately after 3b) Regina turns around, her eyes very red, and a thousand excuses rattling through Emma's mind fall silent. "What the hell do you want now?"

Emma and Regina chat about Emma, post-Kansas.

Emma's hand is still on her wrist and she thinks about Zelena and Emma, two curly-haired little girls who'd been cheated out of family before their fates had ever been decided.

Post-midseason finale, one year later. An amnesiac Henry returns to his grandparents' castle in the Enchanted Forest, where he quickly grows fascinated with the mysterious sorceress who's training his mother in magic– and who's the one person in the castle he's forbidden to ever meet.

[Swan Mills family Hunger Games AU] Emma and Henry are forced to return to the Hunger Games for a second time- where friends are foes, the world around them is trying to kill them, and Regina Mills may be their undoing or their salvation.

Written for Teacher AU day of Swan Queen Week. In which Emma and Regina are both teachers, Henry is almost certainly exasperated, and Regina has had enough of Emma Swan and her infuriatingly attractive self. Also, they're at Hogwarts.

Post 3.11. Regina and Snow are held captive together in Oz. (Primarily a Snow and Snow & Regina-centric character/relationship study, but there's some understated Swan Queen because I don't know how not to)

Emma Swan meets the evil queen, raising her son in a fairy tale land inexplicably located in Maine. Soon she's a prisoner in the castle, embroiled in royal politics and a curse with no end in sight, and navigating a volatile relationship with a queen who's determined to see her dead. (It'd be helpful if she wasn't so attracted to her, probably.)

You aren't reluctant to complete your task. That's absurd. You have no desire to stay here with a Henry who doesn't remember you, with an Emma who looks at you like you're friends instead of delightfully passionate mortal enemies. You aren't attached to this peaceful existence they have here in New York. (Post-Going Home, an AU in which it's Regina at the door instead.)

Total fluff, some spoilers for tonight's episode. In which Regina's in love with Emma for much longer than she's probably known.

Missing scene, during/just after Second Star to the Right. Emma has a question for Regina.

"I love my mother," Regina repeats, but there's a quiet hopelessness in her tone, desperation on her face that bespeaks reluctance. And you begin to wonder if Regina isn't just as captive to Cora's whims as the rest of you. (In which Cora uses her love spell on Regina.)

"I'm endgame here," she wants to tell him. "The vampire isn't coming for me yet." She knows this as instinctively as she knows that the scene in Regina's office had been a macabre display for her benefit, and that Regina fits no profile of the victims but the one where her death would stagger Emma.

AU from after the Cricket Game. Regina and Belle are taken captive by Cora and Hook.

After The Cricket Game. Sometimes, when she can move past her hurt and betrayal and outrage and mourning, Emma aches for Regina and this new hell the other woman has unleashed on herself.

All magic comes with a price, but Emma's too caught up in this new ability of hers to consider Regina's warning or where it might take her- which, it seems, is right back to Regina. (Continues from The Cricket Game)

Buffy/Angel us . Buffy's worst nightmares come true, though she's not sure if that's in the form of the return of her onetime lover's other face or of the baby boy that she's now beholden to protect.

Buffy is a waitress at a gay coffeehouse, and Spike is a dashing captain of a space ship... and it's not an alternate universe. It's a year after the events of S8, and Buffy is still reeling... :full summary inside:

In the end, the slayers' greatest foe is indifference. ... A reimagined Season Eight. No spoilers, no canon- aside from a villain called Twilight with pseudo-similar methods- nothing comic-like at all.

Right now, it's never felt more like Christmas, climbing to the top of a hill to stop a vampire from meeting the dawn.
