Author has written 43 stories for Slayers, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Chronicles of Narnia, Bleach, Once Upon a Time, and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Authoress Rant: Me --: https: ///28npg8.jpg Its hilarious how trolls think that their words will keep me from updating. Nah bitches. Look at the icon. I do what I want and write what I love. I drink your sad canon tears in my morning coffee :D F.A.Q.S What's your name: You can call me Alis. I answer to a sporadic number of things. Do you do request fics?: Depends on the request. If it's NejiTen don't bother. Do you want to read my fic?: Maybe. see my criterion below. Do you do challenge fics?: Yes, if it suits my fancy. What do you do in your spare time?: I talk to people (occasionally). I write stuff. I hit up the pub with friends and have a grand old time. I draw and play git fiddle. I listen to people's life stories and sympathize with them. I do alot of social work. Do you give spoilers?- Only if you're one of my beta reader/muses...thats means e-mail me if you're interested so we can start talking. How come you "never" update: Depends on my excuse for that day...: p I update as often as I can depending on the situation and how much free time I have. Also: Reviews really inspire and encourage me to update, so the more you review, or poke me with an e-mail, private message or instant message, the more likely I will feel obligated (guilty) to update. Dear Reviewers, If you have some criticism on the way I write something, or even a specific character, I want to be clear in communicating that it's totally fine. I actually like constructive criticism and even some of those un-constructive ones because it helps me to write better stories, but what I like even more than that, is to be able to dialogue with you specifically about how I can improve. But if you decide to leave random hate reviews on my stories, then at least have the balls to leave a signed review, especially if you're gonna bitch about the quality of my stories. To complain and not even be willing to dialogue about it is not only a sign of immaturity, it's also cowardly. I take it to mean that you don't want to own up to the responsibility of what you said. For those lovely trolls: Do remember that in spite of your lack of propriety, respect for yourselves, and others, that I do take what you say into consideration, even if its momentary. Salutations, -Alis- Other stuff I feel like putting down but you don't neccessarily care about: LINKS: Fun stuff I visit: http:///group/AmberHorizonsandCrimsonSunsets/ Pairings: Can we say crack pairings? Stories I wont ever bother reading/Writing: Mistakes not to make on : 1.) Anything with: I'm not good at summaries/I suck at summaries in the description: Why would anyone want to read a story when you can't even describe it...Yeesh. 2.) Huge blaring spelling errors/grammatical errors in the description: I understand typos and errors, but your description is how you get people interested. if you've blundered that operation who wants to read what else you have? Don't use small print for all of it and Also try to avoid capital letters for the entirety of it, and mixed CaPiToL lEtEtErS. it's annoying. 3.) Anything with AIM speak or smiley faces in the summaries: Lol, rofl, omfg News Flash, kiddies: It's Fucking annoying in REAL life. Learn how to talk, and more importantly learn how to write if you're going to be a part of a community of writers. There are tons of resources at your fingertips such as the beta account through so there's not really a good excuse for this. 4.) This is my first story: First off, that point of fact might not actually matter if your story is decent. Second off: That information belongs in your Authors note, not in your description. Third off: It doesn't help you advertise your story, it detracts from it. You don't get pity points. Trying to give an excuse for your story is saying that your story needs one. 5.) Anything that screams Mary/Gary Sue-ism: Say it with me folks: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Mary Sue is the BANE of good fanfiction. Don't give way to temptation. 6.) AU fics: particularly Vampire fics, High School fics: I REALLY loathe 90 percent of these fics. I have made exceptions on this, but for the most part I avoid them like the plague unless I know the author. Why? because it's usually an excuse for blaring OOC-ness. 7.) Anything blaringly OOC: if the story doesn't fall along the heart and spirit of the character's actions then its out of character (ooc). As you can tell, crack pairings are kind of my favorite, so I'm not afraid of putting characters in situations where they might work out. I'd like to think I'm more open minded than most in light of that. I don't mind deviating a little bit, or even interpreting but making a character do or say something they have no shot in hell of doing or saying, when you haven't set up the scenario properly is a general turn off. They need to be believable which leads to the next point. 8.) A Weak Plot: if you're writing a story simply to get the characters you like together with no real thought to the plot, then I typically dont bother after the first chapter. Plot is the backbone of any good story. Without it, the story is nothing but drabble. 9.) Poorly written fight scenes: Fight scenes are hard to write particularly for fanfiction because it's based off another author's style, but they're important. I sure as hell can't write a perfect fight scene but I make the effort. 10.) Plagiarism: Being creative or having a similar thought is one thing. Blatantly ripping from someone else's work is another thing entirely. |
