Have you ever thought about a modern girl being Reborn in the Rurouni Kenshin universe, where she'd shake its structure with her ideals, feminism, knowledge and smart mouth?
She would become great friends with Aoshi, bringing him out of his shell and world of vengeance. They would fall in love and get married in the ends of the series. Kenshin would love her, but she'd seem him as a brother, because since the very beginning she held no hope nor had any illusions about Kenshin and his craving for penance.
She'd have 3 or 5 children with tall, dark and handsome Aoshi. They'd love each other fiercely, but before that, they'd forge a friendship since the very beginning. She'd offer him advice, support, then she'd try to write him/contact him, he'd one day answer back and thus they start talking about everything. He's fascinated by her different way of seeing the world, her idealism, acceptance of war, death and its consequences. She's well read, intelligent, intuitive and have a very sharp tongue, which usually puts her right in the middle of conflicts. She's kind and a sucker for puppies and cute kids... she smothers Yahiko on her bosom quite often, because she thinks he deserves lots of love and hugs. She's a good instructor, but more than keep the Kamiya Style alive, she incorporated he training from her previous life into this new one. This Kaoru doesn't care about marriage and societal expectations, but since she'll have Aoshi, he'll be the one to convince her to marry him. She'll be good friends with Saito. They would share some morbid humor and sarcasm.

She'd get along fine with Megumi, who would spend some sleepless nights trying to understand Kaoru, her crazy mind and weird knowledge of things.

This Kaoru would have an explosive temper, specially when faced with injustice, prejudice, cruelty, things that are quite frowned upon on a civilized society.

Please, think about this idea. It came to me whem I started thinking how hot Kaoru and Aoshi would be together, how great sex between them could be, how less serious and introspective would Aoshibe, having an extrovert like Kaoru as a confidant and friend. They both would feel very understood and not so alone in the world.

Reading your profile and knowing that you are still active gives me so much hope that you can give us a glimpse into their lives; maybe as a oneshot.

I read Catharsis many years ago, around 2005 or 2008. Hard to believe that it was over ten years ago. I was too young back then to fully appreciate the little nuances that you had woven into your story, but like fine wine, it have aged so gracefully. Reading this story again, as I've grown ten years older, gives me a new perspective. I appreciate the subtleness and actually preferred it this way. You had given us readers a beautiful gift with your words and imagination and thank you for that.

hellooo. you know? up until now, i am still waiting patiently the sequel. hoping that one day, you might have an idea to continues this story. no pressure. it is just my wishful thinking. but i first read it was on 2008, and because i love it so much, i put it in PDF and save in my tab, so i can reread it again whenever i want to.. *coughNOVELMUCHcough*. at the end of the story i put down "to be continued..." waiting maybe one day i can get my wish come true..

I'm glad you're still active! I love this fanfic a lot. I never considered Kaoru x Enishi before I stumbled upon this doc years ago when I was still a teen (25 now!) and I rememenered this fic last night after reading the Jinchuu arc again. Your writing is amazing, really. You have the inept ability of capturing each character.

I have rarely seen a story that has been so well put together. And I mean that... Truly. You took one tiny little detail, changed it, and the whole thing unraveled like a loose thread. I am in awe of your talent. Kudos! I actually expected lemon because in almost every fic I've read, it pops up, but I think the fact you excluded sexual relationship is best. Kaoru may be different by accepting an unmarried man into her home, but I don't think she'd sleep with someone who has yet to marry her. I did, though, want to see her finally say "I love you" verbally.

It was so frustrating reading the last chapter, cause I was really hoping for "lemon", but oh well. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this story. It was so well written I couldn't believe it. It'd be nice to se another story, even if it was just a one-shot about Kaoru & Enishi's life as a couple :)

Best E/K fan fic on the site. It was very well written, in character, exciting and gosh darn sexy without trying too hard. Loved the pacing and flow of the chemistry. Everything fell in place and was very believable. Great job.
