![]() Author has written 5 stories for Mega Man, Warcraft, Harry Potter, Naruto, Familiar of Zero, and Soul Eater. Hi, you may call me Qaint. I've decided to start writing here on due to the enormous amount of entertainment it has offered me for free thanks to its authors and its community. There comes a time when one must give something back. I hope, I can live up to what inspired me to start out. The artist, a friend of mine, who drew my avatar can be found on the deviantart profile here. Visit and drop her some love. :D [Current projects] as of [14-November-2017] A Pet Wizard: Chapter VII - 1,963 words. The Memento: Chapter XV- 2,448 words. [Secondary Projects] -:Secret Project:- Progress stalled. 10% New Path: Chapter III - 873 words. [My stories] The Memento: My first story. It was originally meant to be 'practice' for my real projects, but it quickly evolved into something more. Having spent countless hours thinking about it every day, I am far ahead of my actual word count. I seek to make this one of the best Megaman Starforce stories on this site. And if that's not possible, then simply the best I can make it. A Pet Wizard: My 2nd story to go into "full" production. One of my 4 pilot stories. I'll admit, it was continued mostly due to the massive response it got, relatively speaking. It is my most popular story (out of 2, lol) and quickly growing larger too. I like Louise/Familiar of Zero and I like Harry Potter. The rest came as it was and I must admit I'll have to wing it a bit as I hadn't planned for it. However now I want to make a crossover between these two series unlike that which other people get by with. So I may have started out with no plot at all, but now I have a rough idea and that's all I've needed so far for what will be an epic story. Some drastic things have been planned down the line, which may make or break this story. Harry Potter and the Lesson of Power: This is actually my favorite fic of the pilots. Sadly, I've put it on the back burner for now from a lack of interest. Though I think that might just have been me who didn't give it a proper chance. Some day, I'll restart it and woe be upon the world from the results. The plot, stretching years and years, still clutter my brain. I am apprehensive about the OC, as I've never really liked them. But she plays an integral part of the story and she's grown on me in a way canonical characters simply don't. I realize that could indicate a coming MarySue, but through awareness I'll try to avoid it. Hopefully that will be enough so that it will still be Harry's lesson. (Look! I've already spent more time here describing my OC than the actual story! By the Emprah, I have fehled.) Leftover of a Prophecy: Naruto and Soul Eater - fight! This story is what could become an amazing adventure (I'm a bit of a tease, just keeping it to myself for now). Naruto is just like that when he sets out somewhere. The adventures simply follow him around. I like the idea of Lord Death being the manifestation of the Juubi and that of an evolving and changing world that pass through different ages. My inspiration for that would be from playing the game 'Kingdom Under Fire' - A fantasy world shifting between eons of light and darkness, each eon shaped by their respective Gods in their own image. And Lord Death seeks order. In a way, it just grew out the same way 'A Pet Wizard' did. A lack of crossovers of the kind I want, is a vacuum waiting to be filled. The New Path: This was the story I had in mind when I made my account. An epic story about Arthas Menethil, Paladin of Lordaeron. Young'uns these days only see the cliché evil Lich King and pandas, but before that, Arthas was a man. A heroic, brave, self-sacrificing man who'd give up everything for his country, which he then did. His friends, his mentor, the love of his life and eventually even his own humanity were all lost to him. His virtue became his downfall, but I've always wondered what would happen if he hadn't fallen at all. As with all things, it's all for better and worse. I've read a single Arthas-Story on this site and you could call it the final drop that overflowed the chalice and set me on my own path of writing fanfiction. That story can be found in my favorite section. [Who am I?] I'm a fanfic writer. And I'm going about that somewhat casually. I am a terrible grammar Nazi. I like order, but I cannot attain it! My DnD alignment would probably be lawful neutral. I try to be picky when it comes to my 'favorites list' as having a humongous list of stories defeats the novelty of each of the really good ones. So they're all stories which I personally vouch for. And even more importantly, authors whom I seek to learn from and have a great deal of respect for. So if you are on this list, good for you. :) This is even more so true for the author list. I have never considered myself to be a writer in the past and I still don't. I write to have an outlet for my own ideas, but I also love the positive feedback and interest I've garnered here on FF. Even a few friends. This is a novel experience which I couldn't have found anywhere else. Not to forget all the other stories people have. I feel like I'm doing fairly well here. I am always up for a chat if you want to talk with me, whether you want to make write your own story, wish to request something of me or simply tell me how much my idea of a [insert plotpoint here] belongs somewhere south of my spine; then just drop a message. Before you flame, remember that I drink your tears and eat your dreams at night to fuel my bad fanfiction; otherwise carry on as I cannot and will not stop you. ;) [What do I like/dislike in stories?] I like a lot of things. It's easier to say what I dislike. Be advised, I'm ranting. I mildly dislike a smug Harry Potter or Naruto that can bend over everyone using smarts and awesome magic power with no consequence. The stories often start looking the same after a while, except with unique magic A instead of unique thing B and a lot of things can be guessed beforehand. (I am a hypocrite, so I must assert: some writers do it really well and I do enjoy reading it when it is done well.) E.g. Harry stumbles in his garden as a four year old and thus (obviously) learns shadowwalking or some equally cool but likely vague thing. What follows is that Harry devotes all his time to learning this new-found and often superior skill, and is then gripped by inspiration to study everything and train too as he reaches 6 years old. This new Harry suddenly absorbs an entire library worth of knowledge and is a fighting genius at the age of eleven and when he enters Hogwarts, he takes what classes? Arithmancy and that other Runeclass. Why? Because those classes sound like something a smart Harry would take and it goes like that. From that point onward, Harry suffers no significant defeats and more importantly no humiliation. He'll likely set up side-projects with surreal applications. And his first visit to Gringotts might entail a "lost fortune" of some kind or perhaps a visit to buy armor made of dragon parts or its equivalent, which he'll then wear under his school robe all the time or something. Everything will be fancy and give those extra edges ("custom-made"), which are often never needed or really paid much attention to. All very cool things, but at this point, "Harry's skills" have stopped being a part of the story and has evolved into its own separate "thing". A bloated tumor providing wish fulfillment as it chokes any suspension or drama out of the story. The rule of cool has become the bureaucracy of cool. Unless it enhances the character or allows him to show off, often at the expense of hated characters, then it's a no go. Character development is out the window, because as any other min-maxer munchkin wizard, Harry picked charisma as his dumpstat. Not that it shows as he'll reliably talk entire rooms full of people into submission with "superior logic" without ever having to shout more than once to gain attention. Regardless of if he comes across as a smug superior asshole. And what do people say to this charade? They scream for more as they hope to see their ideal hero bash a non-ideal character out of spite. It's fanwank and really unprofessional. To me, Rome burns and the whole city is out dancing in street. I could just leave and go home, but as it is, I do quite enjoy it here. Having said all that, it is most certainly within every author's right to post these stories, for readers to read, enjoy and review these stories. I will just always advise against making such a story unless they really want to. For while I try to be as "professional" about these stories as possible, the fact of the matter is that I only have a gut feeling for what is right or wrong myself. We're all amateurs here.
