Hello and welcome! My name here is jeweled inferno (which was, incidentally, my IM address way back in the dark ages of the internet and is now a reminder of how I'm shit at naming things), but you can call me E. (Not short for Emrys, but short for my real name, which I'm not going to tell you because, seriously, mate, this is the internet.) Hermione Granger is my spirit animal, closely followed by Ginny Weasley, mostly because, together, they are everything I admire in a strong independent woman.

My large project currently is Diplomacy, a mostly-serious tale of Voldemort causing mayhem in Middle Earth while Hermione and Ginny team up various species of sentient creatures to kill him. Being sporadically updated, but next on the list of "large projects to finish", is Unspeakably Secret, my take on the time travel genre, because, seriously, why would the Department of Mysteries give a fourteen-year-old a time machine? Obviously, it's because they want her to be part of the team travelling back in time to prevent the First Voldemort War and subvert the opinions of blood purists everywhere.

(8/25/16) *Laughs nervously.* So... I'm still here! To be perfectly frank, I don't feel all that guilty about not updating for a while given that I was a bit busy with the resurgence of my depression. Still, I feel a bit bad for abandoning the stories for so long. Chapter 16 of Diplomacy is done and currently in the process of being posted, and I've begun chapter 17. The next update will probably be for Unspeakably Secret because alternating from one to the other helps me keep the ideas fresh.

(12/02/15) Diplomacy is fully edited through chapter 15! Chapter 16, the new one, is halfway written and includes Hermione finally realizing that Glorfindel has feelings for her. ("And really, she reflected. Now that she really thought about it, it was quite obvious.") Hoping to have 16 up by the end of the week.

(11/17/15) Diplomacy is now updated through chapter 11. At this rate, we'll be into new chapters in December! Hallelujah, praise Merlin, bless the Valar.

(11/15/15) More editing of Diplomacy. We are now caught up through chapter 7. Things are a lot more vague on Voldemort's end now, with less emphasis on trying to explain his actions because really, Past Self, you know how this story was going to end and his plans won't make any sense until then anyway.

(9/27/15) Significant editing of Diplomacy. As of noon today (9/27), chapters 1 through 3 have been changed a lot and reposted. All chapters will be rewritten and reposted before the story picks up with chapter 16--I need to do some changes in backstory before I can head to towards the conclusion. I think Hermione's decision to work for the D.O.M. makes a lot more sense now, as does her actual job. The idea of a Horcrux-guardian in the Void is also going to be changed significantly.
