Author has written 8 stories for Gossip Girl, and Casualty. I've noticed a few people have been looking at this so I thought I'd better say a little about myself. I've been reading fanfiction for a long time but have only recently startedwriting it. It's also the first time I've really written anything in a long time although I really enjoyed creative writing when I was younger. Writing fanfiction has turned out to be a lot of fun and it makes me really regret I didn't take the plunge and write some years ago. It's an excellent escape when I get in from a particularly stressful day at work. When it comes to my fanfiction reading tastes, these are quite varied. I like a story to be properly developed though. I can't stand things where two characters who previously had very little time for each other randomly lunge at each other and start making out and I can't read PWP. I find it totally pointless and I'm a romantic at heart. My original fanfic love was Mulder/Scully. (This probably tells you way more about my age than I'd like to admit.) After that I progressed to Buffy/Spike and these days my pairings are varied. I prefer my couples non-canon. I think it's more fun that way and I've also found that on the rare occasions my couples get together it tends to ruin it for me. Here's a list of my current favourite pairings. Harry Potter - I particularly love Draco/Hermione and think that this pairing has inspired some of of the finest writing I've read in any fandom. I also enjoy Fred/Hermione, George/Hermione, Scorpius/Rose. Big Bang Theory - Penny/Sheldon Gilmore Girls - Rory/Jess, Rory/Tristan - I flip from one to the other depending on my mood. I can't stand Logan. Stargate Universe - Chloe/Rush The Office - Ryan and pretty much anybody. I love his character. The Mentalist - Jane/Lisbon Castle - Beckett/Castle Community - Jeff/Annie When it comes to Gossip Girl it's clearly Dan/Blair all the way as anybody who has read my writing can tell. I used to also enjoy a bit of Chuck/Blair but that has long since lost its appeal for me. I have Dair to thank for finally inspiring me to write some fanfiction of my own and it was the support I received from the readers in this fandom that encouraged me to continue so this couple holds a special place in my heart. (Additional note: Another one of my couples ruined by going canon. It did stop me writing my story for a while but I finally managed to finish. After all in Eight Years On, none of that horror ever happened.) Finally I've decided that on Casualty Lenny and Mads belong together although I'm not sure anybody else agrees. There are now four parts in my one-shot series which should be read in this order; A New Christmas Tradition I Thought We Were Friends Together We're Unstoppable Today Isn't Tomorrow (Additional note 29/8/11: Now that Mads seems to have dissappeared from Casualty I've started a new story set 6 months in the future for this couple to try and give myself some closure - Coming back to you) You can probably tell from my profile that I have incredibly varied tastes. (I'm willing to predict that not many people loved Gossip Girl and also Stargate Universe.) I never can tell what will draw me to a particular show and I appreciate that in this way I'm a bit of a weirdo. I made my peace with that a long time ago. A big thank-you to anybody who takes the time to review my work. I never realised until I started writing what a massive encouragement this could be. |
