Will Jane's new family fall in jeopardy at the hands of a psychotic madman? [AU after S6, but if you squint, it potentially lines up with post-series.]

Travel with us many, many years into the future, where a married Jane and Lisbon must temporarily enter an assisted living facility. Expect humor, murder, hanky panky, detecting, and the occasional tug on the heartstrings. This story is a collaboration with the talented Donnamour1969, and Donna's concluding chapter is now finished.

This is very much an experiment, so I'm a little nervous about posting...! Mainly because it's all very, *very* silly. If you don't like talking animals/inanimate objects, I would advise that you stop reading here. Otherwise, please meet the uncredited yet utterly integral 'cast' of The Mentalist.

Sequel to Recalculating. Jane and Lisbon's new relationship is challenged by a case with a personal angle for Lisbon.

"I have something for you," he says. She laughs. "Didn't you already get me what I wanted as a kid? Years ago?" "Yes." He returns from the back of the trailer. "This is something else, though." (A tag to Black Helicopters (6x13) which then becomes an AU going through Violets (6x16) and a little beyond. Jane finally (sort of) does things right.)

CBI men, including the supposed 'emotionally unavailable' consultant, invades the waves the beach has to offer on a Sunday while the women happily ogles them on the sideline. A jaw dropping revelation transpires right before the agents faces.

Collaboration with the brilliant Donnamour1969. Fate, aided by Abbot, sends Jane back to South America in pursuit of an arms dealer. Lisbon, left behind in Texas, is kept in the dark when her partner falls off the grid again without a trace. Torn apart once more, this time the separation could be permanent. A few months after moving to DC, Lisbon is called to testify in an old case in Austin. Seeing her again leads Jane to question the decisions they both made. T/M for language and eventual sexytimes. Multi chapter. Goes AU after Black Hearts.

6x22 Tag -"He would never, never forget the second when he began to believe that maybe, just maybe he wasn't going to have to be alone anymore."

Companion to A Sad Beautiful Tragic Love Affair: A month before her own wedding, Jane comes back into Lisbon's life and turns it all upside down once more. They both have to sort out the pieces of life after Red John and the life Jane rejected five years ago. Jisbon of course.

"Thought maybe you'd want to discuss Rigsby's theory that you'd eventually get together with Lisbon. Remember that?" Patrick Jane is stagnating, but maybe-just maybe-he'll pull himself together long enough to tell Teresa Lisbon how he feels. A take on spoilers for the remainder of season 6.

6x16 Tag - "And then she sat on the floor of her shower, hot water streaming all around her, telling her heart to shut up. It was time she did something for herself. Marcus was kind and thoughtful and, best of all, he wasn't wearing a wedding ring."

Jane hated Texas. Still, it wasn't all bad. At least Lisbon was with him. Of course, they were about to enter a recently evacuated office building to look for a terrorist in the middle of a hurricane, so he supposed things weren't exactly ideal.

After Las Vegas, Jane tries to put his relationship with Lisbon back on solid ground in his own inimitable way. Citrus-scented Jisbon fluff with a side of silliness. Minor spoilers for season 5, then speculation about the upcoming reunion.

Follow up to Wedding in Red, which felt really unfinished to me. Jane and Lisbon talk about weddings. Hypothetically, of course. Or so Lisbon thinks.

There, in the recesses of the closet, she buried her nose in the stained collar of his shirt, breathing in deeply. It smelled faintly of detergent and oolong tea. She filled her lungs with the scent, half-hoping it would wind its way into her heart and assure her that what she feared couldn't possibly true.

"For twenty-seven minutes today, I lived with your death. And I spent every one of those minutes hating myself for all the things I never told you, things I was too afraid to face."

"It's a game," he explains, and before she can do anything else, he's pulling three playing cards from inside his jacket and laying them out on her desk.

Post Red John. Jane has a plan; he just didn't tell Lisbon. Cho steps in.

Now complete. With a case that divides the sexes in the good old CBI, Jane and Lisbon make a bet that has them questioning everything they thought they knew about sexual stereoptypes.
