Where did the name Rebecca come from? Jane's Wife was Angela Ruskin. Also, while I'm enjoying the story, I don't agree with you that he didn't love his family (or feel like he belonged), including his wife, as much as he loves Lisbon.

You know what they say about how much a loss (or betrayal) hurts is directly proportional to how much you cared/loved them? Based on his breakdown and dedication to revenge and general emotional state, it's clear that he loved them quite a bit. True, the guilt enhanced his response but that alone wouldn't cause this.

I'd say he loves Lisbon just as much but differently because he is different.

I chuckled so many times as you had the characters down pat. I love the complete focus on Jane and Lisbon and their inner workings. You are such a graceful writer.
