"Daryl?" Her fingers reached thoughtlessly for the rounded firmness of his shoulder before she remembered and snatched them away. It wasn't like it used to be, and some cruel part of her wondered if it had ever really been anything at all. Still, he found her. He always did. Caryl, set two years after the events of 4.08.

You would have thought it would be easy looking out for the ones you love. But for Daryl it ain't. Rick bands Carol from the prison and now a livid Daryl is determined to go and find her. But then the governor returns with someone Daryl cares for the most – that is when things get complicated.

This story starts off immediately after Carol is banished from the prison. Daryl searches for her and will be helping her to deal with what she has done. This is a Caryl story and there will be emotions flying as they stop hiding their feelings from one another. This is a love story. I can promise that Daryl will step up to be Carol's defender and she will open up her heart to him.

During the Maggie & Glen rescue mission, Daryl has to choose between his brother and the group. Carol is devastated.

"The adrenaline-fueled resolution that charged his limbs lapsed step by step until the frantic brunt of his gait devolved into an angled stumble. With a guttural rustle, his stomach jolted, cheeks puffed, knees buckled and he keeled over on all fours, puking fluids." Daryl confronts Rick and busts out of the prison gates to track Carol only to come across with his worst nightmare.
