Ok, so, I came here because the title seemed adorable and was surprised with how deep this story went with the characters' histories and their past trauma, and hobestly I was not expecting it to be this real. Right now I'm so terribly afraid for Daryl and Carol and everything but at the same time I can't wait to see where this goes. This story is really very good

You're an amazing writer. It seems as if you do a lot of reach before writing and that makes the trials they must work through more real. Even though we are now into the beginning of season 8 and this was written during season 6, I have been feeling the same sense of hopelessness that the creators of the show will never give the Caryl fans what we want so much. Isn't it funny how a silly show about zombies could come to mean so much to so many. And on top of that the number of fans who have made Carol and Daryl feel very real rather then just comic book turned television show characters. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.

I just wanted to share with you that I have five dachshunds. We lost our first one in 2012. And I totally empathise with how your friend must've felt on that day. Anyway, that was a sweet tribute to her fur baby.

Finally came back to fanfiction after a long hiatus to search out this story as I knew it was one I wanted to catch up with. Just finished reading the end and wanted to say again, well done! It was a great read wherein you dealt with very mature, sometimes dark issues in what I feel was a realistic, mature, compassionate way. I love that you never wrote things into a tidy bow to be able to jump to the fun stuff or drove the misery too far to not allow the story to progress; the balance was well achieved and I felt the ending also was not too drawn out nor too abrupt. Thanks for taking these characters on a complex journey but one wherein they ended up together and ready to face the next challenge ahead.

Althought dam its heavy on the rape side ... That poor Daryl and the girls ... its making me feel uneasy , but I forgive you, obviously youve thought a lot about the aftershocks and the sensible psychological consequences of those acts and all , it made me think (and cry) a lot . I never thought about Carl after the claimers, it got left out, now it's bothering me too ... There is so much things they dropped in the show, thats why we have fanfics to fill the blanks ;)

Obviously a psychologist would have a field day with all those survivors !

Really liked this first chapter! I am fascinated by the Alexandria time and worried it will mean Carol and Daryl end up apart. Need fanfic to fix it!

The flower with him going for the root seemed character appropriate. I wish the scene you summarized in here would have been expanded to real time though. It sounds like the major turning point of their relationship and it happened between chapters! I feel like I missed out!

This chapter was so sweet and that last sentence struck home like a grandfather clock.

It ain't all about the fuckin is it? - lol I love this line and I'm glad you kept that conversation in two parts. Good tension. Really liked the reminder of Carol and Axle, too.

"Had to whip me. Make me take it." Those lines there killed me. So much emotion and it just punched me right in the gut. Incredible writing.

I really like the gruff halting way you write Daryl's dialogue too. It keeps the rhythm of his voice so I can easily picture it.

This chapter was a deeply valuable piece of writing. Favoriting this story for sure.

I like Daryl not understanding why she dressed up for gay guys, and the whole "we were eating lassie" line. Plus the idea of Daryl's newly expanded circle of friends.

I have had this bookmarked forever and am just getting to it now...3 chapters in and I can't stop. So glad you chose to write a story that involves the book, as well as shows the close relationship that C/D could have with A/E
