Random Notes and Updates:

So, little piece of random news, I started my own community dedicated to all those amazing Discworld fics you'd almost swear were written by Pratchett himself. If you a fan of the every puzzling Discworld cast (Death & Co. in particular) please come check out HE SPEAKS IN CAPS.

Critera for the Stories I Read:

- SPELLING: If you can't bother to check your spelling, I won't read it. i'm not talking about the occasional misspelling that eludes us all. I'm talking about the ones where there is at least a typo per paragraph. Also abbriviations. This is writing, not texting. If I have to think about what you're writing, I'm not going to read it.

- CAPITALIZATION: Please. Please, please, please, please, please. It can be almost physically painful to read stories with terrible (or nonexistant) capitalization. It's not that hard to do. Even if there is a good plot, if you can't capitalize properly, I can't force myself to read it.

- 2D CHARACTERS: Now this one, I understand, may just be an issue of not enough experience. But when a character does one thing, the moments later does something completly opposite, or make a decision/change with no plot build up, I just leave the story, because it doesn't hold my intrest. Sorry, but its true.

- MARY SUES/ MARTY STUES: I understand that you may wish to add OC occassionally to a story. But the key word is just that- occassionally. OCs are something that shouold be used sparingly, and usually there are cannon characters that can be used for the same role just as well or better. OC's lead to the danger of Mary Sues and Mary Stues, and few people really like to read those, to be honest. There is a line between stretching suspension of belief and over the top writing. Be careful not to cross it. If you aren't sure, ask someone else to read your story over for you. Or try this Mary Sue/Marty Stue Litmus Test: http:///ms-test.html

- CLICHÉS: If you're going to write them, at least write them well.

- RELATIONSHIPS: If two characters have never even met each other, I don't like to see them stuck together. Just my personal opinion. Also, when author stick characters in just to replace the romantic interest of a character because they don't like any existing characters, that kind of annoys me. They tend to be poorly written and under developed. But again, this is just my opinion.

- SUMMARIES: Please don't apologize for writing a "bad" summary. That alone is going to stop me from clicking on that link. If you have trouble, try to find a beta, who will not only help you with the summary, but with the writing as well. A beta is one of the best ways to get feedback and improve your writing.

- REVIEWS: slight side note. Reviews are one of the nicest things you can do for an author. Every person on this site wants to know that at least someone is reading what they write, and the hits/visitor numbers don't tell you enough. Not to mention that some people put a lot of work into their stories, and even if they are not very good, clearly want to improve. So please, drop a little not when you find yourself reading a story. Its a wonderful feeling to have and read reviews as an author.

Anyway, since I hold the authors I read to these standards, I am always happy to hear if I myself make these kind of mistakes. So please- Read and Review!

Ichiruki: I'm sorry, but by the way those two work together, there is no chance for other romantic pairings. They already squabble like a married couple for heavens sake!

Royai: I really like that Mustang has one girl whose not afraid to kick his butt, despite all of the other adorning fans. They just have such a funny, subtle relationship. It'd be hard seeing them married, though...

HistuKarin: I just really like the two of them. Karin just has such a great "don't mess with me" attitude. Its really fun to write scenes with her surprising people with her personality.

Jaenelle & Daemon: Just...wow. I love the dynamic of this relationship (well, of the books in general too I suppose) because they manage to be such bipolar, total split-personality people and yet make it work incredibly well. There are so many parts between Saeten, Daemon, Luciver and the coven that have me in tears of laughter, and then the other parts where there is no laughter at all. But both personalities flow so well together that they're still clearly the same people. Though I am not usually a fan of romance, this is definetly one of my top 10 series.
