I loved this series!

No matter how many times I read this, and this might be the 30th time, I never get tired of it. But since Voldemort does kill dumbledore, the only thing he does is guard the prison he was in, he never acted against him. Why not?

Yep, skipped to this chapter annnd sure enough... Why on earth would you choose to torture Sirius for 10 years? I fully understand keeping him out of Azkaban, but to just turn around and decide to over-torture him a different way? Why? If you don't like Sirius, don't write him. It really is that simple.

OH good grief. Is this story just about all the ways to torture Sirius? If so, I'll skip it.

I have read the whole of the UU in about three weeks and it was fantastic. Easily the best fan fiction I have come across!
I know I’m late to the party, and you probably won’t even read this - but thank you.

You know, I've read your promises series dozens of times, and this one a few. I have read my fair share of time traveling fanfics and movies. However, I still don't fully understand this chapter, with the way you described this time bend. Plus, if they did go back to '67, why not simply kill Tom and be rid of him?

I fell out of the HP fandom for quite some time and recently found myself drawn to it again. I started re-reading fanfics that I remembered loving so much; I remembered how the first time I tried to read "Promises Unbroken" I had started crying and had to stop, how I had taken months to come back to it and only made it past the prologue by steadfastly refusing to believe Sirius was dead (which was how I dealt with canon as well). Imagine how much I loved seeing that there was a new story, one that told how it all had started. It's perhaps a bit ironic that it was about 10 years that I removed myself from the world of HP, and that after 10 years I would find myself reading the UU again.

I never forgot though, how powerful the poem James wrote was to me. It's been burned in my memory for all these years, and has bubbled up at the oddest of times. I cannot look at the Marauders without those words going through my head. You wrote the perfect embodiment of what the Marauders were. You understand them better I think, than even Rowling herself. If there was ever anyone to truly dedicate the time, energy and love needed to write the story of how four boys became friends and later brothers in the world of canon, I cannot think of anyone I would rather read it from than you.

Pretty odd premise. Secret keeper is kidnapped. When it is discovered, immediate response should be leave compromised fideliused place and cast it in different location.

If secret keeper could not be broken in few hours he is useless. With luck, killing him could reveal secret to some death eater. There was no need of extended torture porn.

this had been the longest chain of fanficition I had ever read and know when i finally finished I feel ... sad and happy all at once . Sad cuz now I know that they will be no more of this anymore. Happy cuz I finally finished reading it.
And no matter what happens between this moment and then this will always be one of the most best fanficitons I ever read

I have read the unbroken universe from start to finish with baited breath. It was amazing. And this prequel nicely ties up the last unanswered questions. Thank you so much for writing such an amazing piece of fiction.

Maybe it is because I haven't read far enough through this one yet but I don't see how it could be different. The Inner Circle reforms whenever someone needs replaced, and by the end of UU I don't recall Frank Longbottom being a member, yet in this first chapter of the prequel you mention him as a member of the inner circle.

A splendid prequel to a magnificent trilogy. The UU series is one of the two or three best Harry Potter fanfics ever written.

Nice point about Voldemort using Snape to pass messages to Dumbledore.
