Aww, poor Briar. It's so nice and self-sacrificing that he does this thing with the women mostly to get Evvy and Rosethorn back. I also like how he's determined to keep this from Sandry, Tris, and Daja at whatever cost. This is the Briar we know and (really) love! : )

I don't know why I think of this, but a while ago, a classmate gave a book talk on Sandry's Book, and she called Sandry Sandy through out her entire three minute long speech! It was all I could do to refrain from yelling out in the middle of the class "SANDRY!" But somehow I survived. : )

I know this fic is really old, but I wanted to say how much I liked it. All the characters seemed authentic, and it was sad without being angsty. I'd love to see a story from Evvy's perspective on what Briar is going through.

This is such a wonderfully sad angsty fic. You explore what's happening to Briar in such a heartbreaking way-heartbreaking not just for him but for Rosethorn and Evvy too. The only thing this left unexplored (at least in my mind) was what affect does this have on his magic or vice versa? Are plants one of the few things that can still comfort him? Or is even that not enough now? Or somehow has the PTSD affected his magic too? Anyway, my idle ramblings aside, this is a lovely piece.

Very interesting. That actually is well-reasoned and an interesting concept and reason for just how screwy he's feeling. Go Tris for insisting on the Mind-healer, huh?

But I loved it. :)

I feel like I'm the only Briar/Evy shipper in this fandom, though.

It was cute, and it captured Briar's thoughts perfectly.

I love Briar! I was so sad the first time I read Will of the Empress, they were so close as kids and then they just shut each other out! But then when they told each other why I almost cried. This almost made me cry, he's so sweet and he wanted to protect them. Brilliant writing and you may have noticed but I loved the... not quite a stoyline but I loved what you wrote about.

Wow. That is an awesome one-shot! I'm one of those people all the authors hate because I read without reviewing, but this was so amazing I had to say something. Briar is my favorite character (except MAYBE Tris) and it is so cool to read a story that I feel does him justice. Keep writing!
