Author has written 6 stories for Final Fantasy VII, Naruto, and Legend of Korra. My name is Katherine Moore. I was born on the 22nd of August, 1989 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. There is not a time in my life that I cannot remember a firm love of reading. My parents, Lord bless them, instilled in me at a young age a deep respect and passion for the written word. I learned to read on my own at age five, and I have been writing ever since. For me, there is something sacred about good writing; the author is leaving a piece of themselves behind, a fragment of their soul left open and bared for any and all to examine, enjoy, and interpret as they will. Words are history, words are eternal, words are life. It is a way to keep remember and even sometimes, a way to release and forget. There is something startlingly spiritual about reading...in doing so, you are close to the author in some inexplicable way, a kinship of sorts. The best writers can make you feel. They open your eyes to new experiences or breathe life into familiar ones. They not only tell you a story, they paint it. You can taste a good story. You can smell it. The best stories are the ones that leave you spent, the ones that are so vivid that in time they begin to mix with your memories and your dreams. The characters in these stories are complex and yet undeniably simple...they are tangible and flawed and sometimes repulsive. But they are memorable. And that, my friends, is what separates the enjoyable from the profound. ...however...there's nothing wrong with a good smut fiction now and then. :D So, if that lengthy introduction didn't scare you away, I'll tell you a little more about myself. -- I'm a dyed in the wool Sherlockian. I was raised on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works and have a great love for his beloved characters. I have seen most of the film adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes series but find that there are only few that do the great detective justice: I consider the Granada television series starring Jeremy Brett the best, but I'm also partial to Richard Roxburgh's interpretation. I found the movie starring Robert Downey Jr. to be a little too fantastical, but very enjoyable. My latest favorite is the BBC miniseries Sherlock, a tasteful and delightful modern day detective serial. -- My Favorite authors are Nevada Barr, George R.R. Martin, Frank Perretti, L.A. Meyer, Jane Austen, Edgar Allen Poe, and, of course, Conan Doyle. There are many others that I also follow, both professional and online, these are just a few of the big ones. -- Favorite TV Shows: Game of Thrones, Castle, Leverage, House M.D., Psych, Scrubs, Supernatural, Monk, Nero Wolfe, Tin Man, and Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe. AND Firefly. -- Favorite Cartoons/Anime: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, Deathnote, Ouran High School Host Club, and Family Guy. -- Favorite Games: Left 4 Dead (both), Dragon Age II, Mass Effect, Fable (II and III), Fire Emblem (7,9, and 10), Final Fantasy VII, Legend of Zelda, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. -- Favorite Ships: Vincent/Tifa (FFVII), Kakasi/Sakura(Naruto), Orihime/Ulquiorra (Bleach), Roy/Riza (FMA), Kyouya/Haruhi (Ouran), Jin/Fuu (Samurai Champloo), Jet/Katara (Avatar), Glitch/DG (Tin Man), Lassiter/Juliet (Psych), Francis/Zoey (L4D), Varric/Hawke (DAII), Reaver/Princess (Fable III), Jareth/Sarah (Labyrinth), Norrington/Elizabeth (PotC), Neville/Luna (Harry Potter), Garrus/Sheppard (Mass Effect), and Jaime/Brienne (ASoIaF) As a rule, I don't prefer slash, yaoi, or yuri. Now, these are not the only ships that I like, just the ones that I "sail" more openly. I've found a few extremely good fanfictions that have changed my mind about a pairing, introduced me to a fandom, or have been the exception to an otherwise unimpressive fandom community. And I only took my most favorite pair from each of the catergories listed. ; -- There are only a few pairings to which I am extremely adverse, which will be good to know for any thinking to ask me to beta for them. Vincent/Yuffie (FFVII), Holmes/Watson, and Sasuke/Sakura (Naruto) make the top three. If you are interested in a beta, have any questions about my work, or just want to chat, please do not hesitate to send me a message. I can also be contacted by e-mail at JFreak747@.
