"To be nothing but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else - means to fight the hardest battles which any human can fight and never stop." - Edward Estlin Cummings Welcome to my page! Hello! Thank you for dropping into my page. As you have probably already discovered, my name is Vaoni. I am a university student from Australia who enjoys dabbling in writing. I love reading, more so then writing and am therefore a lazy slob when it comes to updates or creating new stories. However, I do often go into a bit of a craze which usually leads to updates, edits and a lot of one-shots. I am quite a creative person. I play piano and have been doing so for about twelve years now. Even though I have been playing for so long, I still don't know any theory (literally any. As in, I had to learn what a triplet was to take my final exams) and I am basically a psychotic sight reader who plays whatever she can see in front of her. It's strange and a bit creepy but as long as I can play, it doesn't phase me. I have a very large library which includes seventeen Tolkien books which may or may not be because I have devoted my life to that series. I love fantasy and classic books and I don't really like to read about reality. I mean, I live in reality, why would I want to read about that? So my head is usually up in the clouds or walking through a field in the Shire. As for what I write, my longest story is probably Return, which is a Twilight Princess story about Link's life after the game. I have been very active lately and have been updating the chapters as my writing style has changed and grown since I first started. I am not happy with the language I have been using and so I have been essentially rewriting every line. If I enjoy a fandom, series or movie, I usually write a one-shot about it. To be honest, I don't really enjoy reading about anything other then angst. I don't like silly fics, especially for Tolkien's works as he has a very specific and formal style that is often butchered by people who have only ever seen the movies. I do love the movies but if you are going to proclaim obsession over his works, please read the books! I love angst because in the majority of fics, things often work out wonderfully in the end. To quote the Count of Monte Cristo, "He who has felt the deepest grief, is best able to experience supreme happiness." If anyone wishes to give me suggestions or ideas about a story, please do tell me. I love to work with new ideas and concepts and I do cherish and love the people that read and review my works. In regard to my display pic, I chose it based on this quote: "The painting shows a large, supercilious-looking, unperturbed bloodhound on the left of the picture, next to a tiny, eager looking, white Scottish terrier who looks as though he is about to start barking at any moment... in my imagination, they were for ever Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, precursors in canine form of the immortal partnership. They were also a little grotesque and scary." - Christopher Frayling |
