Wow and thank you! Its been years sice i signed into fanfic to make a named review, but i cant express my words for how much I loved this story. You were honest and true to one of the most complex characters, Jason, despite the movie giving you much to work with. I've been staying up reading this AU during any free time ive had for last few days. I hope you realize how long after you finish a story you can have impact on readers; i say thank you from over a decade later...

I'm not sure if you still recieve notices for this story, but thank you so much, its amazing! You managed to create such depth of personality without breacking from the movie characters. I have been reading this and its companion pieces straight for the last few days and its so much better than so many books I've read. I love the character of jason and so glad someone made a great and honest story of him. ~thank you!

Ugh, okay.

I read the note at the beginning of the chapter, and though I love the slice of life, I just can't imagine this being their relationship. Lois wouldn't stand idly by as their relationship developed this way, and I /know/ Superman wouldn't miss out on being there for his son, despite the threat it brings. Following Jor-El's teaching, despite admitting that the information was misguided, doesn't make sense for Superman to just abandon what he has. He gave up for Lois, and I'm pretty sure that he would do the same for his son and not let YEARS pass by and not try to make things right. Bigger threats haven't been introduced, Superman hasn't reconciled or apologized. I think his whole character is about being there for others in more ways than his father ever thought...

Anyways, I just wanted to say that, though I do love your writing, and I enjoyed reading your other fics, I can't get myself to finish this or SomF because of how their relationship is. I will be reading your one shots of Lois and Clark together, and of course I've always loved Pillow Talk.

It's a beautiful story. It was very confusing to whip over into the other story- shadow of my father- especially since i'm not one to read A.N's much when I'm reading a completed story. I was all the way to the wedding when I realized that the story between Before and After was actually available separately. Because the story between those two chapters would have been the climax to this one.

Never the less I looved Jason and KAte. KAte is sucha great personality. And Jason is such a great spouse even when he was drowning in his hate against Superman. Beautifully written! I so wish Jason had some use for all those great powers without wearing a bright coloured rubber suit . But today's life doesn't really need physical strength. And I was happy for Jason.

The first two paragraphs just made me grin fondly. Amazing how time dulls the sharp edges, right?

Well, other than that bit'O'angst over the missing grandfather, a fantastic birthday.
Your superman really does not seem to shift gears emotionally very well.
The longer I read (and think on it) the more I realize that you've stayed true to that characteristic throughout, even if it doesn't make any sense to me for him to be this way.
Point is, I'm sorry for my harsh judgments of earlier chapters that had superman acting like a moron (IMO) - he was just... him.
