![]() Author has written 11 stories for Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Harry Potter, and Chihayafuru/ちはやふる. Please, feel free to do fan fiction or artwork based on my rants or my own fanfiction. If you ever get the desire to change something that I've done and do your own version, go ahead. Just say that you were inspired by my piece and that's all the credit I'm really asking for. And, maybe, if you emailed me a link, that'd be nice for my own curiosity. I'd really love reading your stuff. Thanks! AIM: LauraNeatO DOB: August 23, 1983 (Level 30) I write fanfiction off and on. Goku's Humored is on an extended, possibly permanent hiatus, since I not only have gotten extremely rusty with the series and have to re-watch it, but I would rather put those hours into sampling new anime series. There will probably come a day when I re-read all my Dragonball mangas, though. I have the whole collection, and it's dying to be re-read, so we'll see where that takes me in any foreseeable future. Then I have to re-read my entire fanfiction again, and somehow work up the nerve to try to outdo myself when I -wasn't- rusty. We'll also see how that plays out. A lot of factors have to go into me regaining my inspiration to complete Goku's Humored, so consider that on a semi-permanent hiatus for now. I've otherwise been active in the Chihayafuru fandom (especially within the community; google the Taichi Appreciation Thread), which is a very new but very hard-hitting influence since August, 2013. However, I still do partake in the NaruSasu/SasuNaru fandom, though I frequent it as a second thought. I draw fan art, though I have also been on an unintentional hiatus from that, too. Lately, I've been working with a SasuNaru author, InstantKarma83, on her story "Living in Denial", acting as a brainstormer, editor, and beta. You can read it here: http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/7370534/1/Living_In_Denial . I'm a strong supporter of all writers, including fanfiction writers, reading QUALITY literature. The more junk literature you read on this site, the more you will think and write "inside the box." If you would like to read -good- writing that may inspire better writing quality from yourselves, look outside to some of the great recent books. I STRONGLY urge people to choose to read/listen to "The Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I STRONGLY urge readers to read/listen to "The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho. While you're at it, pick up a copy of "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. Those are just the beginning of great books out there that are great stories, and wildly popular best-sellers for good reason. They have great ideas, they AREN'T vampire high school pregnancy fics, and they are written brilliantly. They are a solid example of how you CAN write a story without resorting to trite memes. The best news, though, is that there are hundreds of great literature books written through the ages that are just as fantastic to read. Immerse yourself in a variety of literature, not just fanfiction, and you'll be able to approach storytelling from a much more well-rounded and educated perspective. ( And maybe the average fanfiction.net writer may finally learn to spell "lose" and "definitely" correctly in the process. ) Good luck! And enjoy reading my fics, and other fics on this site. Just remember to keep yourself well-balanced with classic literature, and best-sellers not just within your age group, but among the masses. |
