Author has written 15 stories for Godzilla, Mortal Kombat, Deadpool, and Batman. UPDATED: 7/5/2019 Wow. I've been on this site since 2013. Can't believe I'm still here. Thought I would've had a life by now. Oh, well, what can you do? Hello, everyone, my name is SpinoGuy, of SpinoGuy Productions, but you can call me Spino. Everyone does. You might know me from my Mortal Kombat: Rebirth series that I've been doing, or maybe some of my Deadpool one-shots? Maybe even, God willing, the old Godzilla story I wrote. Well, if you do, thank you for visiting. How about, for funsies, we give a rundown of all of my past and present fics? In order of completion they are: Godzilla's Return: Wow. This one... this one is bad. Arguably my worst work. This was before I knew how to write actually structured sentences. So, it's a bit of a difficult read to get through just because it's so damn difficult. Also, I just didn't know how to write a full-blown Godzilla story. I only really write it so that I can write the destruction or fight scenes, but I can't think of a good way to integrate fully fleshed out characters. So, until further notice, there's going to be no new Godzilla stories of a large caliber. Yet, at least. Maybe if I found a co-author. Mortal Kombat: Rebirth: This is where I found my stride... kinda. If you go back and read it, it's obviously lacking in many respects, but hey. Should at least be easy enough to read. I'm tempted to just go back and rewrite this, but I dunno. I have enough stuff to write, as I'll explain later. Now, I did not expect most of my FanFiction portfolio to be dedicated towards the Mortal Kombat franchise. It just kind of... happened, I suppose. Not that I regret it. I met some great people on this site specifically because I started writing this. So, I'm thankful for that, at least. Godzilla: The Aftermath: I'll be honest. The only reason I wrote this was because the teaser for the 2014 Godzilla film had dropped and I wanted to put my own spin on it. Not much else to say about this one. I wrote it in like twenty minutes. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah: This one I have even less to say. It was a decent write up, far better than Godzilla's Return, but not as good as Aftermath in my eyes. So, I just kind of left it. Visit: Okay, this is where the order kind of breaks. I took all my Mortal Kombat and Deadpool one-shots and put them together. Well, the two franchises have separate homes, but I left this one out for a reason. It's tone clashed. I wanted to make something nice and show a different side of Deadpool than I usually show, so I spat this out. Short, yes, but hopefully heartwarming enough. Mortal Kombat: Legacy: And we come to the first completed full-fledged story that I feel I have no reason to rewrite. Re-edit? Oh, most definitely. I have some ideas, in fact, but the point is, this is where it was pretty much cemented that I'm not going to stop doing MK for a great long while. I enjoyed writing this, especially the early parts where it's just Stryker, Kenshi, and Johnny shooting the shit. This is also the point where I shifted focus from the blind swordsman to the average cop. I mean, yeah, there's a reason for that, but still. Stryker had wormed his way into my heart and now I just can't let him go. Yet. I'll find a way to brutalize him. The Swordsman and the Maniac: Easily my favorite story to work on, even if the only reason is because I got to work with the great iceangelmkx. I posed the idea to do a one-off collab. Now, there were some issues during the writing. You see, this was the first time either of us had written a collab, so there was a bit of trouble with us writing at the same time. So, the process was slow, but whenever we did work together, it was great. Also, writer's block dropped on us constantly, as well as real life stuff, but it was finished. She was even gracious enough to let me post it on my account. Isn't she great? You should check out her stuff. Mortal Kombat: The Rise of Anarky: I decided to step back in time before I went forward. A prequel to both Rebirth and Legacy, and this is the result. Originally conceived as a simple Kabal origin, it evolved into something else very quickly. Hence why it was just called "Kabal" for so long. Honestly, it's not as good as Legacy in my opinion. But, I did create Anarky, a character I really enjoy writing, and I started planting the seeds for Finality, which... just keep scrolling, you'll see what happened. The Test: I wanted to write a Batman story featuring Arkham Knight's Scarecrow. This is the result. Nothing else to be said. Killing Season: So this was a Deadpool fic I decided to write after reading Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. I think that story is great, and everyone said that mine was better (those who reviewed it anyway). I don't believe that, actually. I think the message kind of got lost when everybody started to cheer for the deaths of the Marvel heroes. I tried to write something along the lines of showing that this isn't supposed to be a good thing. The ending probably won't be loved. Oh, well. It was the planned ending. Trapped: This one is finally done, thank God. I'm really proud of this story. I always wanted to write a horror thing, and I'm flattered by the response so far. I personally think it is the best thing I have ever written. Now, I know what you're thinking. That's not a complete list! Well, you're right. That is my completed stories list. So, what is this devilishly handsome man up to? Well, that's a good question. A Mortal Kombat Khristmas: A Christmas special that I decided to do because the main stuff was getting a bit heavy for me (and other real life stuff). So I wrote this and a bunch of other light stuff, but this was the only one to get posted. Also, it wasn't the annual thing I wanted it to be, but I'm proud of what this was. The Deadpool Collection: Remember the "I don't have a title" series? I didn't delete them. They're all here. So, if you want to relive these "classics," now you know where to find them. Not sure when more will come. Like I said. Bit busy. Mortal Kombat: Anthologies: This and The Deadpool Collection were the product of me wanting to get rid of a lot of fat. So, I combined all the one-shots. Unlike TDC, I actually updated this collection for about a year afterwards. I'm actually rather happy with how all of them turned out for the most part, the one exception being the Scorpion chapter. I can't reread that one anymore. Despite how overall pleased I am, it's also the one thing preventing me from having the Rebirth AU have a nice, clean conclusion. Maybe not the first few chapters, but it later got to be about building up to Finality, at least until I rewrote the Scorpion and Sub-Zero flashback from Rebirth itself. I like them all too much to delete them, and if anything from the Rebirth AU gets updated, it'll be this for a certain character I left hanging in Legacy. So, that's what I've all done on this site for the most part, baring any deleted fics. Still, I need to get one, big elephant in the room. What happened to Mortal Kombat: Finality? Simply put, I cancelled it. I got about fifteen chapters in, but I wasn't happy with the story direction. So I scrapped all but the first six or seven chapters, and went from there. However, even then, I was getting frustrated. I got to chapter ten, I wasn't even at the quarter mark. I only did about two scenes that I actually liked. So, after about a year of not even touching the documents, I looked it over, and I decided I didn't want to write it anymore. I felt like I was writing it out of some non-existent obligation. If I'm not mistaken, I even posted a few chapters in that year, I believe three, just to see if I could get some motivation back. It didn't work, and I only wrote about another chapter before abandoning altogether. Now, I have no desire or care to go back to the Rebirth AU, or even finish some of the other stories I've worked on, like the Transformers fic I wrote, which I also scrapped for the same reasons. I have started and scrapped so many things because I don't think they're good enough. So, yes, the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth AU that I started is over. I am genuinely sad that I couldn't give it a proper conclusion. So, this is the end, right? The End? Don't bet on it. As you can see, I've been thinking about a lot of things since I last uploaded back in 2018. I've also changed as a person, including my writing style. So, I want to try something different. I got into this habit of wanting to make it perfect, to try to finish as much as I can before I post it. I needed to stop that. It has gotten me nothing. I hate that mindset I have now. So, I threw that mindset away and I now gift you with... Mortal Kombat: Blood Ties:This is my first big, multi-chapter story that I've begun since Rise of Anarky and Trapped all the way back in 2015. The only thing I've done since, really, are a few one-shots. I'm very excited about this project, since I have a lot more planned out for this fic than usual, but I haven't written anything down aside from a few bullet points. I'm also just biting the bullet and posting the chapters as they are finished. Expect them to be about a chapter every one or two weeks, maybe more if the writing bugs bites me. It's also my first foray into romance. Let's hope I don't fuck it up. So join me, why don't you? On this brave new frontier of SpinoGuy Production. Okay, it's not that dramatic, but I'm excited. I have plans for a few series that I've never even touched before. I've already dropped a hint, you might figure out what it is, but that's not all. Blood Ties will not be my end. It's actually a fresh start. Wipe the slate clean from overarching continuity and multiple stories at once and focus on one at a time. Let's see where the future takes us, yeah? Spino, out. |
