Now that Transformers Prime is essentially over, I'm working on a long-term novella that picks up where the series leaves off, instead. Pax Cybertronia: Still working on this. Rise of the Predacons kind of wrecked my hopes of using something canon, alas. Needed to buy and read Covenant of Primus and Transformers: Retribution to complete it; now that I have, I can get back to work on it. Transformers: Last Generation: Biggest case of writer's block EVER. Trying to power through a SINGLE SECTION on Chapter 5 that has been holding me up for months. Potential Projects: Life Cycle: Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback discover that scanning insect alt-modes came with unforeseen consequences. (G1) Head, Hands, Heart: Empurata had become a convenient crutch - something he could blame his actions on. When an experimental technology restores his head and hands, Whirl is forced to deal with the wreckage of his life. Help comes from the last mech he ever expected it to. (IDW) Author's Thoughts: I like using original characters. Not because I like self-inserts or want to use an OC as a wish-fulfillment vehicle, but because sometimes when you're using characters from a set series, there are gaps in certain roles that no canon character fills. I also like to use OCs to experiment with certain ideas and plot points, and I respect canon characters enough not to jerk them around and change them in ways that just go against their intended grain. Remember: Every character in a series you liked started out as SOMEONE's original character! |
