Well... you know what they say: better late the never right? Although, I do apologize that it took my lazy butt so long to even get there to begin with. Let's just say I got turned around in the 'Shining' hedge maze (personal stuff, my own fics, baby Hellion, you know all that jazz), got frozen, had to wait till summer to get thawed out, and finally made it through. Now that I finally did get to the end, I have to say I enjoyed the hell out of this fic.

I was going through your reviews as well after coming to the conclusion, and I honestly agree with all the pros that were mentioned by your reviewers. I think this is a fantastic origin story and I love how you integrated MK9 into it. And thank GOD, no Cyber-Sub Zero and Sindel coming in and John Wick'n the entire cast. I can't tell you how much that made me happy. I myself like a bit of canon divergence, I'm doing it somewhat in my own fics (especially with my second AVP fic). If it benefits the story, even better. I like your interpretations of the characters, especially Kabal and Stryker (Smoke of course, he's very funny and after he gets turned into a robot is pretty gut-wrenching. Not the mention Bi-han's *cries into a tub of Ben and Jerry's*). I know you've told me in the past during our little PM pow-wows (Nightwolf is also another surprising one I enjoyed in this fic, speaking of pow-wows) that you think you're not good with comedy. Well I think you are. You had me 'LOL' irl over most of the banter. So, you can wipe the sweat off your brow, you are fine. :)

I also love the things that Subs goes through. Your fight scenes are always executed well, but I knew that from your other fics that you could pull that off, so I was never worried. All of them always had me on the edge of my seat though. I also love the sheer brutality of the aftermath (has a Vietnam Flashback of of MK11 everytime I use the word 'aftermath') (pauses) (gets back to business) ... there's broken bones, collapsed lungs, arms all akimbo and wonky like some Silent Hill creature. I really enjoyed that aspect, cause its not like the game where you can take a fucking razor-hat to the face and still fight. So, I enjoyed that realistic approach. :) Kudos to that.

Maggie and Anya are such great characters as well. I really enjoyed Sub's visit to Maggie's in the hospital. It was well executed, it felt like I was there in the mad house too. Anya, I remember I liked reading about her in Ascension, so it was nice to see her pop up in here and I finally got to see the 'How I Met your Mother' backstory between them both. She was fun to read during the battle scenes, although I agree with Subs, that she needed to stay put XD. I wanted to go into the scene and spray her with a squirt bottle. 'He said stay put, lady!' But I love their back and forth with each other, and wanted to put my hands on their heads and go 'now kiss' at the end. :)

Overall, I don't have much more to say other than good work and I'm off to the next installment! :D

Was nice to see some background on Kuai Liang as a child with Bi-Han.

Great to see more expansion on Kuai Lang, the inclusion of a master and him finding out what happened to his brother. What I liked the most from this chapter was how this is taking place during the events of the game, where we find out that Sektor and Cyrax lost in their match and that they were spared by Liu Kang.

Again, the Grand master is a dick and I'd love to see him eventually die by Kuai Lang's hand.

I understand Kuai Langs plight in having to kill this man. It's wrong, he knows it, and yet they still demand they he do it. Sucks the guy died anyways, but that was how I figured it was going to go. As for the Grand Master, he's a dick, plain and simple and I can't wait to see him get his ass kicked.

Also, I loved the interactions between Kuai Lang and Tomas. It was very human.

This is probabaly the best fanfiction I have ever read. I love the story, it was very emotional (Chapter 17 actually made me cry), and you captured the characters very well. This is definitely one of my favorites!

You should make this adventure,comedy this chapter says it all
