The Story of Salmon: I like to think of myself as a rebel. Hence the name - Salmon - the fish who swims upstream. However, those who think of ourselves as rebels rarely tend to actually be one. All and all, I'm pretty average. A working stiff, with too much imagination who dreams of a career doing something I actually enjoy doing instead of just working for money. Oh, and sometime I'd like to publish a book, too. :P

A Word About Romances in my Fics: A good half of my stories contain Slash and/or Femmeslash (Yaoi and Yuri if you prefer). I make no apologies or excuses for this to those who do not like the fandom. Nor do I make any apologies or excuses for the inclusion of Het in such stories to those who like the fandom. Some of my stories even contain no romance whatsoever. A fact I'm exceedingly proud of given the lack of such stories among fanfiction.

I would like to say something about the fandom known as Slash/Yaoi/Femmeslash/Yuri. Who doesn't right? I just seem to straddle the fence on this particular fandom. I tend to stay closely to canon - writing it mainly for shows that contain it already. Though there are exceptions. and I dare say I read a great many fics from non-tongzhi ai (Rough translation - Gay Love) fandoms that create a tongzhi-ai pairing. I also include het couples in my tongzhi ai fics - something that disturbs a great many fans of the said fandom. I can't really comprehend this. I don't believe what both backers and rejectors of the fandom say - that tongzhi ai is nothing but pr0n. Are there tongzhi ai stories that are nothing but pr0n? Yes, of course. Are there Het stories that are nothing but pr0n? Well, golly, gee - yes.

I read stories and watch shows because I enjoy the tale that's being told. Romance is often included in any such tales, because human beings tend to be suckers for romances. To me, it doesn't matter what the gender is of the said romantic couple, so long as I enjoy the story unfolding before me. That's why I read - and write - tongzhi ai. It's also why het couples appear in my tongzhi ai fics. If you hate either fact - I'm sorry. Here's some change. Call me when you grow up.

Love, Tears, & Promises - On hiatus. It isn't abandoned, but I want to finish a few other fics first.

The Price for Loving You - Chapter Twenty-One: This chapter gives us somewhat a break from the heaviness of the previous ones. It was fun to write. The part where Tatsuha is texting everyone was my favorite piece. It's mainly a set up for the next chapter, which also promises to be fun and give us a brief break before things get serious again.

Never Never Land - On hiatus. I know how NNL plays out. It's a pretty dark story, to be warned, and right now I have a few others I want to work on first. Don't worry, it will be finished.

The Meaning of Home - On hiatus. I have this all planned. I just have to write it. But then, I always say that, don't I?

New Fics:

Blue Roses and Caged Birds - Aldnoah Zero sucked me in. I basically watched the entire series in two days. I felt they did a good job up to the very ending. I wouldn't have objected to the "Slaine gets secretly imprisoned for life" if they hadn't included the "Slaine gets blamed for the whole war." The first part makes sense - after all, he chose to lose the war, but the second makes no sense. Hence, fix it fic. Oh, the title! It kinda struck me at the end, when he was watching the birds. How he said birds in cages were the saddest, but people put them there because they are so beautiful. At the time, I took it as a reference to him hiding away Asseylum (Which I kinda felt was inaccurate seeing as she's in a coma. She's unconscious, what do you want him to do with her? Parade her around in her tank?) But in the end, it's almost a comment on his fate - Slaine ends up stuck in a cage because Asseylum can't let go.

Sneaking Around With You - I was reluctantly dragged into Utapri fandom. But the music is catchy, and it's essentially a show about music and idols, which are both weaknesses of mine. And there's lots of shipping potential, which is another weakness. Anyway, I was challenged to write RyuyaxRingo fluff. Totally sold on them after third season, so I took inspiration from an old movie favorite and wrote this. While I wanted their interactions to show their affection, I also wanted to stick to the casualness and maturity of a longtime relationship between two adults. I'm pretty proud of it, actually.
