Author has written 17 stories for Lord of the Rings, Kingdom of Heaven, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, X-Men: The Movie, Bones, True Blood, and Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries. 8 June 2013 Hey peeps, I'm kind of back with a new fic that I'm working on with my brother Aulendil. I know, I know, I have FAR too many unfinished things, but Westeros and vampires have taken over my life outside of work. See? A Red Sun Rises New! Survival of the Fallen trailer (True Blood/X-Men crossover) Impossibility Arises Here's a website where I've posted all the media/information concerning my stories (just the crossovers, for now). I'll make announcements, post trailers, interest polls, and anything that's related to the crossovers on this site. It helps me to be a bit more organized about all the other things which are not the actual stories themselves. I hope you enjoy it. NB: From now on, the entire Chance Encounter series will be posted in the Lord of the Rings crossover section, so no, they haven't disappeared. Prospective Stories (As yet untitled Kingdom of Heaven fic): What would happen if film Balian was thrown into the historical situation in the Holy Land? The idea stemmed from the arguments about Hollywood vs. History. Well, here is a more 'historically accurate' version of this tale of redemption. I'm pretty sure it will end up as alternative history instead. (It's an Odd Coincidence sequel): Logan, Boromir, Sidhien, Scott and Maeneth are back in the good old US of A, only to find that the mutant registration bill has been passed. Mutants everywhere are facing persecution. Many have already disappeared. But Logan didn't just bring his friends when he came back. Something has changed in the fabric of his world. There are reports of strange predators on the prowl and terrifying beasts lurking in the dark. Myth and modernity clash, and the Wolverine finds out that he is so much more than an animal with claws. Not that he gives a damn. Favourite Books: Lord of the Rings 'Salem's Lot The Taking anything by Sarah Rayne I've found I enjoy some chick-lit at the moment. Favourite Movies: (Not in any order) Lord of the Rings Pirates of the Caribbean (esp. Dead Man's Chest) Troy Kingdom of Heaven Australia Favourite Actors: Orlando Bloom Hugh Jackman Keira Knightley Anne Hathaway Eric Bana Three Greatest Directors (my opinion-- and they're not in any order) Sir Ridley Scott Peter Jackson Steven Spielberg Favourite Music: Two Steps from Hell The Immediate E Nomine Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks King Arthur soundtrack ...various other film soundtracks Hugh Jackman's singing makes me swoon! Random favourites: Eyeliner, mascara, dark wash skinny jeans, stiletto high heels which make me look tall and thin when I am neither, blazers, fountain pens, fancy notebooks (of the paper variety), old books with parchment pages, fedoras, black tops, big shiny earrings, action scenes, 'alone' time, scarves, leather gloves, faux fur, Islamic architecture, the Crusades, the Ibelins' family tree, nail buffers. I'm a young woman who loves to dream. I tend to write crazy crossovers between unlikely fandoms, which is why I will probably never write a Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings crossover because it's kind of standard; they're both fantasy. I also like to ogle my eye candy so that will influence my selection of stories to cross-over. ;) Mary Sues are the bane of my existence. I despise it when I accidentally write one, which, thankfully, is becoming less frequent these days, and I also despise reading them. I'm obsessed with the Crusades; if you get me started on Crusader family trees, I won't shut up. I'm like a hobbit with those. Actually, I think there is quite a bit of hobbit in me. Mostly I hang out in the LotR fandom but I will occasionally venture into others such as KoH or X-Men. About me as a person: I'm full of contradictions so it's hard to put me under a label. I love action scenes and fantasy stories, but I can't stand Sci-fi unless it's about dystopic futures featuring tragic and dashing heroes. I also like selected chick-lit and am an avid reader of Australian Vogue. I have an unhealthy obsession with shoes and dresses, but I promise that this obsession will not feature in my stories, as I prefer to write about troubled handsome heroes with anger management issues. Action scenes are so much sexier than sex scenes, although I will make an exception for the love scene in Kingdom of Heaven, Director's Cut. My knowledge of pop culture is spectacularly scant, but I'm trying to catch up on it. There is a trend in my taste in music; you will find that most of the things I listen to feature either no lyrics or lyrics in Latin/German/Sanskrit etc because I prefer to not understand what people are singing about. Here's just a couple of good quotes: -'Love thy neighbour as yourself, but choose your neighbourhood' --Louise Beal -'Many argue global-warming is man-made, and it looks like they found the man' --Dick Cheney on Al Gore's power bills. -'It's a key!' 'Much more better: it is a drawing of a key' --Marty and Capt. Jack Sparrow in PotC:DMC -'We fight, over an offence that we did not give, against those who were not alive to be offended. What is Jerusalem? Your holy places lie over the Jewish temple that the Romans pulled down. The Muslim places of worship lie over yours. Which is more holy? The Wall? The Mosque? The Sepulchre? Who has claim. No one has claim. All have claim! We defend this city, not to protect these stones but the people living within these walls!' --Balian of Ibelin in Kingdom of Heaven |
