Una vez más lo borré todo, no sólo por capricho (al fin que nadie lee esto), sino porque hoy, 31 de octubre de 2014 se cumplen exactamente 10 años desde que abrí mi cuenta de Fanfiction.net por primera vez. DIEZ AÑOS. Ni yo lo podía creer el otro día cuando lo vi. Ya me deberían dar un premio o algo.

No sé si tenga mucho caso tener mi perfil en español cuando hace realmente muchos años que no escribo en mi idioma. Ni siquiera estoy segura de por qué dejé de hacerlo, supongo que buscando fandoms más grandes o por alguna inercia natural e inexplicable. Todavía tengo la esperanza de retomar alguna de tantas historias que dejé guardadas hace tanto tiempo, pero son fandoms de los que me he alejado tanto que me resulta difícil.

En 10 años he escrito 43 historias (475,537 palabras, según ) -incluyendo mi primera tanda de fanfictions, esos que nunca terminé y que decido releer de vez en cuando para ver cuánto he crecido-, más las que se han ido quedando en la congeladora, y como de costumbre, las miles que me rondan la cabeza día y noche. En algunos aspectos sigo topándome con los mismos problemas de siempre: demasiadas ideas, escenas muy vivas en mi mente que soy incapaz de transmitir al papel, un poquito de exageración en el drama, etc.etc.

475 mil palabras... vamos, ya podría haber escrito una novela, pero se sienten pocas para tanto tiempo. Creo que ante todo me sorprende seguir aquí después de todos estos años, haber cambiado tanto. Hace diez años estaba en la secundaria, hoy estoy terminando la universidad. Hace diez años no conocía el mundo más allá del patio de recreo, hoy he conocido y aprendido tanto; apenas hace tres meses regresé de vivir un tiempo en Japón. ¡JAPÓN! Mi sueño de tantos años se hizo realidad y me hizo apreciar tantas cosas sobre mí y sobre el mundo.

No quiero enrollarme demasiado (nadie lee los perfiles, de todos modos), sólo quiero decir lo agradecida que estoy por todos estos años, por los comentarios amables, por todas las personas que han sentido algo leyendo mis historias, que han llorado, que han reído, que se han enamorado de un fandom que no les gustaba; y también por las críticas, por las correcciones que me han ayudado a mejorar y crecer.

Lo dejaré aquí, tal vez en estos días vuelva a escribir algo más parecido a un perfil como Dios manda, ahora sólo quería hacer algo, decir algo, porque vamos, DIEZ AÑOS.

For inexplicable reasons I can't find a way to make a line break. Whatever.

So I decided to delete the whole thing once again. The main reason this time is that I've realized that today, October 31st, 2014 is my tenth year as a Fanfiction.net user. TEN FREAKING YEARS. It's kind of overwhelming just to think about it. I wonder if I'll get some sort of reward (yeah, right)

At first I thought I'd put the English part on top, since I haven't written anything in my native language in ages, although I'm not quite sure of how that came to happen. I suppose I can blame the abysmally small Spanish-speaking GrimmUlqui fandom back in the day when that ship was my biggest OTP in the history of everything, couples with Dior Crystal's GrimmUlqui fanbook in Deviantart, which pushed me to write lots of stuff in English, which I hadn't done before aside from a handful of translations of my own work. I became so comfortable writing in this language I can't seem to go back to Spanish now, It's kind of crazy.

Over the past 10 years I've written 43 stories (more than 475 thousand words). Add to that all the stuff that's hanging in the backburner, and a shitload of stuff that keeps dancing around in my head. It's kind of overwhelming, I could've written a damn novel, for crying out loud.. And yet it's funny that I keep having the same problems I've always seemed to have: way too many ideas going on, scenes playing out perfectly and beautifully in my mind and being unable to put that on paper, way too much drama, a small obsession with getting facts right, just to name a few.

I think the one thing that surprises me the most is just how much I've changed in these ten years. I kind of wish I could have my first ever profile data stored somewhere to make a comparison. I mean, ten years ago I was beginning middle school and now I'm almost finishing my college education. Ten years ago the world was so small I barely knew anything beyond the school playground, and now I've had the chance to visit different countries, learn so many things, meet a lot of amazing people, and damn, I just came back from living in Japan. JAPAN! It was my dream for such a long time and now that it came true I can hardly believe it. Ten years is a lot of damn time, I swear.

I don't want to rant any longer (no one reads profiles anyway), I just wanted to write something because holy crap, TEN YEARS. I want to say how grateful I am for everyone who's ever left an encouraging review, for each person that has cried or laughed or had their emotions stirred by my stories, because that's always what I'm going for and knowing I've achieved that much always makes me proud and happy. And thank you for the the constructive criticism that has helped me improve as a writer.
