A little about me:

Hello, everyone! My name is Sammy. I've technically been an 'adult' for years now but calling myself one still feels weird, so I try not to - I'll always be a kid at heart. I'm an aspiring librarian with a shameless love of children's & young adult literature. As part of the generation that grew up with Harry Potter (proud Ravenclaw here!), that series will always hold a special place in my heart, but there are many others I love as well. I studied music & creative writing in undergrad, I love to travel, & I'm a proud cat mom. A list of books I enjoy would be far too extensive to post here, so I’ll leave it at this – my favorite thing about books is that they have no boundaries. Anything is possible when you open a book, & that’s a magic you can’t find anywhere else.

About my writing:

I’ve loved making up stories since I was little – by comparison, I haven’t been in the fanfiction world for long, but I absolutely love it. It’s really fun to dive into a world you already love so much & see what twist you can put on it yourself. I personally like to keep everyone in character as much as possible, regardless of the setting – authors write their characters the way they do for a reason, so I try to keep them that way as much as I can. It’s also a rather fun challenge, when you think about it.

You’ll never see anything along the lines of ‘I’ll update when I get x reviews’ in my stories – I write because it’s something I love to do, so new chapters go up when they’re where I want them to be, regardless of how many hits I get. Obviously, reviews are great – feedback is the most important way to improve your writing, & I read & appreciate every review I receive – but they’re not the driving force behind my updates. I tend to update fairly quickly anyway, & as I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, I never put forth anything less than my best effort – if you’re taking the time to read my stuff, I’ll at least try to make it good for you.
