The man he was supposed to kill.

All Severide wanted for now was to get drunk and forget about the surgery. But he wasn't the only one there hoping to have a few blissfull hours. Where will the wish to escape their problems lead two lieutenants?

A week after Steve rescued Bucky from Hydra the first time, Steve isn't sure where he stands with his best friend. And Bucky doesn't seem like he's all in one piece. A night away from camp becomes enlightening for the both of them, and leads to a promise that in the distant future even the Winter Soldier can't forget. The gunman was a silent, patient figure in the early dawn, perched high on the rooftop of an abandoned building, sitting motionless and poised. Waiting. Every morning was the same and the man in the scope was nothing if not predictable in his routine. He got used to the metal arm, after a while. He even got used to the whirring. But there is something he can't get used to.

Post Cap2: Steve and Sam travel together searching for Bucky. Antsy about what he'll say when they eventually find him, Steve's been writing speeches on postcards. They start out simple enough but when is writing confessionals to your best friend turned Hydra Killing-Machine ever simple?

Idiots who thought themselves brave men might have looked at the two ex-soldiers sitting on the floor wrapped in a blue comforter, pressed so close to each other that it seemed as if two heads were sprouting from one body, and their first words might have been the beginning of a jab at their masculinity. It is not only his training and instructions that make the soldier hate Rogers. It is something grounded in memories of something that happened once before. Pushkin is not the only source of his antagonism.

WinterFrost (Bucky/Loki) The end of a relationship finds Loki driving to his parents' home in the pouring rain. He sees a man walking on the side of the road and feels bad so he stops to pick him up. And things escalate from there.

Steve always was the good one, the easing light to Bucky's dark. He looked at Bucky with awe in his eyes, not because Bucky walked outside of the lines, but because Bucky embraced his darkness like it was the only thing worth embracing. It was incredible to watch- and a little terrifying.

Stress was a major one, the headaches less frequent ever since Bragí had eased the burden his life, and loud noises. Loud noises, like shouting, was exactly the kind of trigger he needed. "He's our father, Ty. Axl's father."

Severide asks Casey to help him and his dad set up his father's hunting cabin for the winter but when some violent strangers show up, the three of them get more than they bargained for. It didn't worry Severide as much that a man from his past was brought in to help his team during his rehabilitation; it worried him more that Casey was injured possibly because of it.
