Author has written 14 stories for Fifty Shades Trilogy, and Crossfire series, Sylvia Day. Hello Everyone...and Welcome. I thought it was time to refresh my profile. Five years ago I had an aneurysm that left me with the chore of remastering the smallest of things such as writing, painting, crocheting, and yes writing stories. I have all these ideas but have difficulty getting those ideas down on paper or typed into a document. I am still having problems but do manage to get a few chapters out. I still have to ask for patience. Along with my health issues, my husband of 37 years was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He was stage 4 with cancer concentrated in his nasal cavities and working into the cranium. He had to undergo one of the most aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments that are available to patients. He had to be fed through a stomach tube because the radiation treatments burned his throat and he could not eat and drinking was near impossible. He lost all his hair and so much weight. At one time, I thought I was going to lose him because he caught an infection and it damn near killed him. After rounds of iv antibiotics, he finally beat down the infection and was able to come home. Another infection, about six months later landed him in the hospital and during his stay, he suffered a blood clot and a small stroke. There was little damage done. He finally finished all his treatments and was declared cancer-free in late summer 2018. 2019 has been the healing year from the treatment. We have been working on hubby gaining weight and learning to live with the loss of feeling in his fingers and feet. He also has lost his sense of taste. These are side-effects of the chemo and radiation. He has also suffered a couple of TIA's which is par for the course. He is relearning a few things such as he isn't as strong as he was and he does have difficulty hearing. He is still cancer-free and I think he is getting stronger every day. In January 2019, my beloved mother had to be placed in a home for Alzheimer's to keep her safe from herself. The family did its best to keep her in her home as long as we could, but she couldn't stay alone. I couldn't stay with her and decided to move her in with hubby and I. Sad to say, it got to be to much for me and her care was more than I could provide and care for hubby. (He still has to see three doctors every month and we live 45 minutes away from the Cancer Clinic) It was difficult to find a senior care provider that could be trusted in our home. My siblings couldn't or wouldn't help, so I had to make a difficult decision. It nearly killed me, but I know she is getting the care she needs. So, I am trying to write and finish my stories. One story has been removed due to the fact that it is getting a make-over with the possibility of being published. It's still up in the air. I will announce any new developments here. UPDATE: A RELUCTANT PARENT by Gelica Bowe has been published on line over on Amazon. So, my darling friends, this is what has been going on in my life. It's been hectic and stressful, but I am so grateful and thankful that Hubby is still with me and the Good Lord has healed him! The fear of losing someone that you love makes you want to hug them more and love them even more. My advice to anyone who wants to hear it ... tell your family and friends that you love them. Don't wait! Just do it and enjoy the peace and warmth that will fill your heart. Go on...do it...just say those sweet little words..."I LOVE YOU!" Thanks for stopping by and giving me a few minutes of your time. I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Missreadingfool aka gelicabowe aka Angie |
