A/N: Here we are, the final chapter. It was difficult writing this because as I've said, this story holds a very special place in my heart. It's been my baby for so long, and ending it is difficult. With that being said, it's not goodbye. It's on to the next phase for the Grey family. Thanks to all who followed, favorited, and reviewed. You shared this journey with me, and I hope you tag along for what's to come in Secrets of the Heart Volume Two. I also want to thank Vanessa, Angela, Angie, and others who helped provide me with pinterest visuals to go along with the story. They truly helped bring the story to life. Thank you all.

"What do the three of you plan to do today?" With a twin in each arm, Christian shrugs his shoulders. "If I didn't know better, I'd say that you've got something up your sleeve. Georgia, Raygan, do you know what Daddy has planned?" Their eyes go from me to Christian and then back to me.

"They wouldn't tell on me. Wouldn't you sweet peas?" He leans down and kisses both of their cheeks. The three of them are wearing almost identical grins on their faces.

"Now I'm even more convinced you're up to no good."

"I resent that comment. If you must know, the girls and I are going to do some window shopping since Christmas will be here soon. Then, we're going to grab some lunch and come back home."

"Window shopping equals lots of purchases for two precious little girls.", I giggle.

"And maybe their mommy." he smirks. I pick up my purse and make sure that I've got my phone and keys.

"I know that you said that you took off work today since it was going to be slow, but it's odd how that worked out on the day that all of us are working at the store. Are you sure that you really didn't have anything going on?"

"I assure you that I had nothing happening at work today. The people who needed to be fired can be be fired next week." I'm fairly certain that he's joking, but the seriousness in his voice makes me wonder. "I'm kidding. No one is going to be fired."

"I've got to go. I'll be home around five, and then we can get ready to head back to the bookstore." Haley wanted to have a small gathering for family and friends as a way to say to say goodbye to the location. Thanks to Christian, however, the entire building will stay in the Grey family as Elliot opens his office there in a few weeks.

"I take it that tonight is going to be casual.", he says.

"Yeah. I'm thinking of having the girls wear their navy blue dresses that Grace bought them. I've got a matching sweater that I'm going to wear." I run my finger along my chin as a lightbulb goes off in my head. "You've got a navy button up."

"I do. I also see where you're going with this. Elliot will probably give us a hard time for matching, but I don't care. Let's do it."

"Before I turn the sign over, I want all of you to know that it's been a pleasure working here with you.", Haley says. Everyone is holding a either a cup of coffee or a hot cocoa for the toast she's about to propose. "Let's do this." We raise our cups in the toast and take a drink of our beverages before she slowly goes to the door. She takes a deep breath and turns the sign over and unlocks the door.

Several minutes pass with no customers. Gwen begins straightening the books in the biography section while Haley and I work on the ones in the fiction and lifestyle sections. Every few seconds, I catch Haley's eyes go to the door. An elderly couple cross the street and appear to be approaching the store but instead walk past.

"We'll have someone soon.", I tell Haley.

"This reminds me of my first day when I kept waiting and waiting.", she murmurs as the bell on the door chimes. A woman and teenage girl step inside and scan the room. "Can I help you?"

"My daughter's interested in fantasy books. Do you have anything?", the woman asks.

"I have several over here." Haley nods to the fantasy section and begins showing the assortment of books. "This one is a new release. It's about a girl who learns that she her entire family has magical powers. I haven't read it but have seen rave reviews for it." The teen's eyes light up as she turns the pages of the book.

"I've heard people at school talking about how they wanted to read this, but I didn't know it was already out. It does sound awesome."

"Even though I don't understand the fantasy genre, I love her eagerness to read. Besides schoolwork, it's all she does. She's read countless books.", the mom says.

"You remind me of myself.", Haley tells the teen. "To this day, I can get a book and get lost in it for hours. Do we have a winner with this one?"

"Most definitely.", the teen replies. "Thanks for your help." The trio head to the register where Haley rings up the book. "I'll have to come back and check out more of the books."

"Well, today is our last day here, but you'll be able to find us at our new location the week after next. I've placed a flyer in your bag with the address and details." The mother pulls the flyer out, showing it to her daughter. "You're going to be closer to where we live. Perfect. Thank you."

"Yes thank you."

"Just as your first customer on your first day was unforgettable, your first customer on your last day seemed to be equally memorable.", Gwen says after the mother and daughter have left.

"I still can't believe you took the girls window shopping and only came back with a few things." I get out of the SUV and unbuckle Georgia from her seat while Christian does the same with Raygan.

"I saw some dresses that I thought would be cute for them, but then I realized that they already had them. I'm running out of things to buy them." After Taylor has unloaded the stroller, we get the girls situated and head inside the bookstore. Adam's in the middle of placing cookies on the counter when he turns to us.

"Hey guys.", Adam greets us.

"Hi.", Christian says. Seconds later, Carrick and Grace arrive, followed by Grandpa and Grandmother. "Looks like everyone got here about the same time."

"We're not late, are we?", Aunt Julia asks as she and Uncle Kenneth along with Ros and Gwen come into the store.

"No. You're right on time.", Haley answers. Elliot and Emily rush inside and mouth sorry. "Relax. No one is late."

"Thank fudge.", Elliot murmurs. "I was worried that we were going to show up in the middle of some speech and have all eyes on us. I can breathe now." He glances at Grandmother who's smiling mischievously. "You're going to do something embarrassing tonight, huh?"

"I have no plans of embarrassing you tonight.", she replies. "I plan on spending time with my wonderful family. Oh, I also need to see if Haley has any new books on the kama sūtra."

"Actually Grandmother, I believe you have all the ones we have in stock, but we're expecting a shipment at the new store in a week."

"This day keeps getting better and better. I'll stop by and check them out."

"Everyone, can I have your attention for a moment?", Haley asks. "I want to thank all of you for being here tonight. When I opened this store, I thought I was only opening a business, but it's become so much more. It's turned into the place where I fell in love and found both a second family, and lifelong friends. I owe so much to each and every one of you for helping make my dreams come true in more ways than one. So...thanks." Adam pulls her to his side and kisses the top of her head.

"Where are the girls?", I ask Christian as he pulls me into the office.

"They're with Mom and Dad. I wanted to steal you away for a minute." He closes the door behind him and reaches into his pocket. "I got something for you today." In his hand is a small black box which he hands me. Opening it, I find a necklace with a four small hearts in the middle of a larger heart.

"Christian, this is beautiful."

"I saw it and immediately knew it was made for you. You showed me that I not only have a heart, but that heart is capable of giving more love than I could ever imagine. These smaller hearts represent you, me, and the girls. Going to Logan was supposed to help close a part of my life, but it also ended up opening up an even greater chapter."

"Speaking of chapters, you were there for me during one of the hardest ones of my life, but you helped me get through it so I could turn the page and get to the next chapter. I don't know what life has planned for us."

"Even better things.", he whispers as our hands lock together. "But whether it's good or bad, we'll go through it like we have everything else."

"Together."
