11/08/10: This fanfic, which first began to fester in my brain and actually began to be written at the beginning of Summer '09, about 16 months after I had actually conceived this alternate universe, is something very big and very important to me. I very much want it to be realistic, not just a FemNaruto story, but an actual "What if?" situation questioning how different the Naruto story would have been had a good many of the genders been swapped. What effect would it have? How much would change? I'm walking a thin line here, though, you see. Alternate universe or Alternate timeline or any story that alters the original story tend to have the odd habit of either changing very little, making some scenes even word for word in a retelling of the story, or changing it so completely that it's almost unrecognizable. Very few can succeed with either option and even less manage to find that happy medium. That happy medium is what I struggle and strive for.

This fanfic is, thus far, 17 chapters in the making. I am in the midst of the Wave Arc and facing much difficulty in walking that aforementioned line. I now understand why so many stories tend to either keep that particular section word-for-word, or change it so drastically that it's hardly the Wave Arc anymore. However, I am working hard and doing my best to make it an enjoyable read while still following the basic storyline.

In the mean time, I have my Sneaks and Peeks fanfic, which holds drabbles, snippets, and other such clips from my Universe, so that readers may be occupied until I manage to post my fanfic. I hope it can hold you viewers reading this over until then. *grins* Thank you for your time. I hope not to disappoint.

Why have you not posted if you have so many chapters already written?

Good question. The reason is that I have had much experience with fanfics I have written as I go along, posting whenever I can get a new chapter written. Updates ended up being few and far between, extending from a few days at best to a few months at worst. It's tough facing irregular updates on the reader's side, and it places a great deal of pressure on the author's side, trying to write a new chapter as quickly as possible after posting the previous one and feeling guilty for the huge gaps between updates. It was eventually that pressure that lead me to lose inspiration for and discontinue several fanfics on my old account.

I don't want that for this fanfic. I want to be able to continue this for as long as I'm able. It's my dream to actually see it to the end, though I am content for now to do my best to stretch and work as far along in the series as I can. Therefore, to beat the previous problem that I formerly faced and mentioned, I hope to take up a technique I have heard many a great fanfic writer use: that of having several chapters written ahead of time, so that I'll still have something to post, even if I can't get a chapter flowing right away or find myself facing the dreaded Writer's Block. I feel and hope that with this new plan of action, I can free myself of that awful pressure, or lessen it at the least, and write freely, bringing to life this fanfic that I love so much and hope others will enjoy as well.
