List Of Ninjutsus & Genjutsu Chapter 2: Genjutsu, a naruto fanfic

I couldn't find any other Genjutsus out there, and I feel that this list is rather limited, so if anyone out there knows of any genjutsus that I've left out, then please let me know… (This were from the deleted list which had been on Wikipedia along with a few from some other sights out there)

Bringer-of-Darkness Technique

Name: Kokuangyō no Jutsu, 黒暗行の術, literally "Bringer of Darkness Technique", English TV "Genjutsu: Infinite Darkness Jutsu"

Users: First Hokage (manga only), Second Hokage (anime only)

This jutsu makes the target think that they are surrounded by total darkness, allowing the user to attack unseen. In the anime, the Second Hokage was the one to initiate this technique. In the manga, it was the First Hokage.

Butterfly Evolution

Users: Ino Yamanaka (Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Accel 2)

Ino creates an illusion inwhich countless butterflies surround the enemy who sinks in the ground, giving Ino the chance to place an exploding tag on their face before cutting off the illusion, revealing that all the butterflies were exploding tags that all detonate alongside the original.

Clone Technique

Name: Bunshin no Jutsu, 分身の術, literally "Clone Technique", English TV "Clone Jutsu", UK DVD "Art of Body Splitting", Viz "Art of the Doppleganger"

Users: All Ninja Academy graduates excluding Naruto

Hand Seals: Ram, Boar, Ox, Dog or Ram, Snake, Tiger.

This technique creates intangible clones of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

Death Foreseeing Technique

Name: Shi no kumi no Jutsu, 死の観覧の術, literally "Death Foreseeing Technique" or "Death Viewing Technique" Ultimate Ninja Games: "Blade of Murderous Intent"

This jutsu is much like the Temporary Paralysis Technique, but paralyzes the foe by showing them a vision of their own gruesome death. In addition to the paralysis, the enemy is overwhelmed with fear, and can suffer severe mental stress.

Demonic Illusion: Descending Hell Technique

This jutsu creates the illusion of a tremendous ball of fire in the sky, which then crashes onto a designated area. Anyone in the area will instinctively flee.

Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique

This jutsu places another illusion on top of a previous illusion created by the user. If and when the target dispels the first illusion, they will not realize that a second is in place.

Demonic Flute: Dream Sound Chain

Name: Mateki: Mugen'onsa, 魔笛・夢幻音鎖, literally "Demonic Flute: Dream Sound Chain" English: "Demon Flute: Chains of Fantasia"

Using her flute, Tayuya can make her target feel as if they are tied with numerous wires, restricting their movement. Soon after, their flesh will begin to melt away from their bones, causing great pain and horror to the target. The jutsu must be maintained by the melody of the flute.

Democin Illusions: Descending Hell Technique

Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique

Name: Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu, 魔幻・奈烙見の術, literally "Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique"

This jutsu causes the target to see a horrifying vision. First, an imaginary circle of leaves will spin around and envelop the target, falling away shortly after. After a short period, the illusion will begin. This is to make the illusion more convincing, since the user will likely have moved before the illusion sets in.

Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change

Name: Magen: Kyōten Chiten, 魔幻・鏡天地転, literally "Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change", English TV "Genjutsu Reflection"

Users: Itachi Uchiha

Using the Sharingan's jutsu-copying abilities, Itachi can reverse any genjutsu back on its original user.

Demonic Illusion: Tree Bind Death

Name: Magen: Jubaku Satsu, 魔幻・樹縛殺, literally "Demonic Illusion: Tree Bind Death", English TV "Genjutsu: Sylvan Fetters", English games "Tree Capture Death"

Type: B-rank, Supplementary, Short range (0-5m)

Users: Kurenai Yuhi, Kurama clan members, Sakura Haruno (Naruto: Ultimate Ninja)

With this jutsu, the user can make themselves disappear, allowing them to approach their target unnoticed. Once completed, a tree and roots will grow at the target's feet and restrict their movements. Once the opponent believes that they are captured, the user can then appear above their opponent from the tree's trunk and kill the target. In the Kurama clan filler arc of the anime, this jutsu seems to be quite versatile, with a wide range of variations on the standard nature theme. In addition to the disappearing and tree-growing effects of the jutsu, the user can produce flowers, seedpods, vines and multiple trees.

Ephemeral

Name: Utakata, literally "Ephemeral", Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Accel "Genjutsu: Utakata", literally "Genjutsu: Ephemeral"

Users: Itachi Uchiha

Though unnamed in the series, this jutsu was named only in video games. It is an advanced kekkei genkai genjutsu in which Itachi doesn't need eye contact to activate, as well as the illusion being more realistic. Itachi activates it by pointing at the enemy with his index finger to form flocks of ravens that transform into forms of shuriken that strike the enemy. In the first variation, Itachi's summons a flock of raven to transform into normal shuriken to tear the enemy's flesh into the form of the enemy's closest friends to distract the enemy with guilt as one of them attempt to kill the enemy. In the black and white varation, (as seen in Naruto Shippūden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX) Itachi forms two clones that vanish in a flock of ravens that transform into shuriken that strike the enemy before Itachi uses his sword to cut the enemy in half. In the scarlet atmosphere variation, (as seen in Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Accel) Itachi, himself vanishes in a flock of ravens then reappears over flock of ravens, commanding them to transform into Demon Wind Shuriken that strike the enemy as Itachi strikes them down in reality.

Genjutsu: Flower Petal Dissolve

Name: Kurenai's Flower Petal Dissolve (English TV "Genjutsu: Flower Petal Dissolve")

The Flower Petal Dissolve Genjutsu, is a jutsu used by Kurenai Yuhi. When trapped inside of a Genjutsu or wishing to appear trapped, Kurenai Yuhi uses this jutsu to dissolve her body into many flower petals which then consume her enemy's body.

This unnamed flower petal techique is a Genjutsu utilized by a Leaf Jonin Kurenai Yuhi. If Kurenai comes under attack, she can use this techique to cover her escape.

Illusion Bell Needles

Name: Suzu Senbon no Genkaku, スズ千本の幻覚, literally "Illusion Bell Needles"

Type: Unknown

Users: Tsuchi Kin

Kin Tsuchi can use this technique with her specially designed bells. By attaching the bells to senbon (throwing needles) and throwing them at her target, she can get them to dodge and subsequently ignore the bells. Additionally, the target may believe the bells are actually designed to lull them into a false sense of security. In actuality, she has strings attached to the bells, which allows her to ring them. The bells ring at a certain frequency, which directly affects the brain. This causes her target to see multiple copies of herself, making it impossible to tell the real one from the illusions. Additionally, the target loses their motor skills with continued exposure to the ringing.

Illusion Mist

Name: Suzu: Kiri, スズ・霧, literally "Illusion: Mist"

Type: Offensive, Defensive, short range (0-5m)

Users: Kurenai Yuhi (Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3)

Kurenai creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals.

Kaneshibari Genjutsu

Users: Jiraiya

The Kaneshibari Genjutsu is a powerful genjutsu that, according to Jiraiya, traps the soul. In the genjutsu, four giant armored toads will control a small cube of water, with the genjutsu's victim inside. Since Jiraiya cannot use genjutsu, two of the Toad Elders assist him. Unlike most genjutsu, this one is activated when the Toad Elders sing, similar to Tayuya's flute genjutsu. Jiariya and the Toad Elders used this jutsu on three of Pein's bodies and then stabbed each of them with a giant sword.

Mist Servant Technique

Name: Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu, 霞従者の術, literally "Mist Servant Technique"

Type: D-rank, Supplementary

Users: Mubi, Oboro, Kagari

This genjutsu creates clones that phase in and out of the ground as if they were made of a blackish, oil-like liquid. When attacked, the clones regenerate themselves. The clones can be controlled to make it seem as if they're throwing kunai. The user can then time their attacks with those of the clones.

Ninja Art: Profusion of Flowers

Name: Ninpo: Hyakka Ryōran English Game "Ninja Art: Covered with Flowers"

Type: Offensive, Defensive, close to mid-range (0-10m)

Users: Ino Yamanaka (Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2)

Ino casts an illusion that paralyzes the enemy, causing them to see a storm of flowers. This jutsu has different variation ranging from a field of flowing petals to an overflow of petals surrounding the enemy.

Sly Mind Affect Technique

Name: Kori Shinchū no Jutsu, 狐狸心中の術, literally "Sly Mind Affect Technique"

Type: C-rank, Supplementary, Mid to long-range (5+m)

Users: Oboro, Kagari, Mubi

This jutsu causes the enemy to walk around in circles for hours by making it seem as if they're walking straight to their desired destination. The enemy eventually becomes exhausted after traveling the same path over and over.

Temple of Nirvana Technique

Name: Nehan Shōja no Jutsu, 涅槃精舎の術, literally "Temple of Nirvana Technique" English "Nirvana Temple Jutsu" English Games "Feather Illusion Jutsu"

Type: A-rank, Supplementary, All ranges

Users: Kabuto Yakushi

This jutsu causes everyone within a specific area to fall into a deep sleep. From the target's point of view, it seems as if feathers are falling from the sky, which serves as a distraction to allow the jutsu to take effect. The downside, however, is that it takes a fair amount of time to take effect, and any experienced ninja has more than enough time to dispel it.

Time Reversal Technique

Name: Jigyaku no Jutsu, 時逆の術 literally "Time Reversal Technique"

Type: Unknown

Users: ANBU

This technique puts the target in a state of reverse hypnosis, allowing them to remember details that they otherwise would not. The target will comply with interrogation, but seems to retain his or her personality while under hypnosis. For example, when the ANBU used this technique to bring back Naruto's memories about his conversations with Gennou, Naruto was more specific about the ramen he shared with the old man rather than their conversations, which the ANBU were asking about.

Tsukuyomi

Name: Tsukuyomi, 月読, literally "Moon Reader"

Type: Kekkei genkai, No rank, Offensive, Short range (0-5m)

Users: Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke Uchiha (Presumably)

Named after the Shinto moon god, Tsukuyomi, this jutsu is the most powerful genjutsu in existence. It is unique to the Uchiha clan and only those with the Mangekyo Sharingan can perform it. When executed, the jutsu traps the target in an illusionary world that is completely controlled by the user. The user can do anything to threaten or stun the target. While it only takes a few seconds to complete in the real world, the user can make it seem as if days have passed for the target. Depending on the user's whim, they can either torture their target for days on end, or make them relive a traumatic event over and over. Once the jutsu is finished, the target will not be able to fight for some time, if they don't suffer complete mental collapse. An example of this is Kakashi Hatake, who had to be hospitalized for some time after Itachi preformed the Tsukuyomi on him.

While the illusion is never the same twice, some elements always remain. The first and foremost similarity is the red moon, which hangs in the sky of each illusion. The moon, in turn, casts a red light throughout the illusion, giving the background a blood-red appearance while the figures within the illusion are in a grayscale inverted color.

Because the Sharingan is the main factor in executing this jutsu, eye contact is required. When he used it on Sasuke Uchiha, however, Itachi seemed to force Sasuke to open his eyes. Sasuke had both eyes closed prior to Itachi's activation of the technique, but opened them in shock as Itachi used the technique. Alternatively, Itachi may have simply caused Sasuke enough pain to open his eyes, or Sasuke did so by himself, despite how unwise such an action was.

Such a powerful technique is not without its disadvantages, though. Because of the complexity of the illusion and the quickness with which it is executed, an enormous amount of chakra is necessary to perform it. To date, only Sasuke Uchiha was able to over come Tsukuyomi, turning the after effects back on Itachi.

Tsukuyomi Black Dream

Name: Tsukuyomi: Kuroyume, 月読・黒夢, literally "Moon Reader: Black Dream"

Type: Kekkei genkai, Offensive, long range (10m+)

Users: Uchiha Itachi (Naruto: Narutimate Hero 2)

Itachi traps the enemy in a Tsukuyomi illusion, causing them to see the ground beneath their feet break open, plummeting them into a huge chasm. The torment ends (and apparently his/her life) when a column of fire slams them into the pit.

Vision of Strongest

Itachi creates a water clone to punch and hold the enemy who Kisame slashes into the air while using the remains of the destroyed water clone to summon a water shark to strike the enemy who falls in the wake of Itachi's Tsukuyomi in which the enemy withers away as though they were water.
