June 28th, 2010: I was crying when I read this. I don't know who's story this is, but it really made me cry. Everyone in the apartment complex I lived in knew who Ugly was. Ugly was the resident tomcat. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage, and, shall we say, love. The combination of these things combined with a life spent outside had their effect on Ugly. To start with, he had only one eye and where the other should have been was a hole. He was also missing his ear on the same side, his left foot appeared to have been badly broken at one time, and had healed at an unnatural angle, making him look like he was always turning the corner. Ugly would have been a dark gray tabby, striped type, except for the sores covering his head, neck, and even his shoulders. Every time someone saw Ugly there was the same reaction. “That’s one UGLY cat !” If you turned the hose on him, he would stand there, getting soaked until you gave up and quit. If you threw things at him, he would curl his lanky body around your feet in forgiveness. Whenever he spied children, he would come running, meowing frantically and bump his head against their hands, begging for their love. One day Ugly shared his love with the neighbor’s dogs. They did not respond kindly, and Ugly was badly mauled. I tried to rush to his aid. By the time I got to where he was laying, it was apparent Ugly’s sad life was almost at an end. As I picked him up and tried to carry him home, I could hear him wheezing and gasping, and could feel him struggling. It must be hurting him terribly, I thought. Then I felt a familiar tugging, sucking sensation on my ear. Ugly, in so much pain, suffering and obviously dying, was trying to suckle my ear. I pulled him closer to me, and he bumped the palm of my hand with his head, then he turned his one golden eye towards me, and I could hear the distinct sound of purring. Even in the greatest pain, that ugly battled scarred cat was asking only for a little affection, perhaps some compassion. At that moment I thought Ugly was the most beautiful, loving creature I had ever seen. Never once did he try to bite or scratch me, try to get away from me, or struggle in any way. Ugly just looked up at me completely trusting in me to relieve his pain. Ugly taught me more about giving and compassion than a thousand books, lectures, or talk show specials ever could, and for that I will always be thankful. He had been scarred on the outside, but I was scarred on the inside, and it was time for me to move on and learn to love truly and deeply. To give my total to those I cared for. Many people want to be richer, more successful, well liked, beautiful, but for me…I will always try to be Ugly. Add your name to this list if this made you cry and pass it on. Beautiful-Surreal Heya. If you favorite me or my stories, or put me on author or story alert, can you please be so kind as to read my stories and leave me reviews? Thank you ever so much. One of my stories has already died because the reviews stopped coming in. Just look at when I last updated. (And pm me so I know you did ) February 15th, 2010: I'm all moved into the new house now, and we're just focusing on the 'little' things that make a house a home now. My mom has flown over from VA to be with my pop and I, and sometimes I kinda wish that she wasn't here, because she is just SO enthusiastic about moving and everything. Not like that's a bad thing or anything but it's just kinda like rubbing a cat from the tail to the head. Usually it goes the other way, and this cat that represents my dad and I is just watching my mum with an amused, lazy eye. Personally I just wait for things to happen and don't rush it. My motto is practically like: 'It'll happen when it happens, so let it be.' I'm planning on decorating my room and making it look like a real dream, but it'll happen when it happens, and rushing it is going to leave me broke. Lol. I chose the room with the balcony, and I have a mattress on the floor, like my oldest brother used to have his, and I've bought some miniature japanese lanterns on a strand on christmas lights and I'm planning on putting them up around my room although I need more. I also had the brilliant idea of getting those fake ivy chains from Michael's and interwining them with the lanterns to decorate my room with them too, after painting my room a light sky blue. I've already got blue candles lighting my room too. It's going to be a real beaut. Well, I'm working on MaryAnne's Academy now, and I really need to thicken up the plot some. I don't want this stew of an idea to be too watery you know, it's gotta taste good too. :D So I'm currently working on it's year system, sort of like it's zodiac, you know, and I think I'm going to tackle countries and whatnot after that. It's going to be an AU story probably, I just hope I don't get too harebrained with it... that'd just end up taking away from the general story. Oh well. At least I'm making progress. See you all later! :Waves: January 30th, 2010: Sigh cleaning up my favorites list just isn't going to work... I have dozens of stories in my favorites list, and I had the feeling that there were too many, and so I went to go and clean them up, but I only favorite stories that I think are REALLY good quality, so when I clicked on a few links to see if I could delete them, they were all pieces of gold and I just couldn't delete them! Oh what to do, what to do... :sigh: Anyways, I shot off a pm to Kryssa's flute - author of AU Ouran fic 'In the Circle of Elemental Arms' today, asking her if I could write a fanfiction for her fanfiction. Shot off a note to Star-of-Seraph on Deviantart as well- since they're collaborators after all- and Kryssa got back to me in no time flat and said that I could. Yippee! So now I'm writing a one shot. I hope it's good enough. On another note: I'M MOVING!! YIPPEE!! My dad managed to buy the house up on the hill which is beautifully built, and has a drop-dead GORGEOUS view of the beach and the Pacific Ocean- not to mention that I can see ALL OF MARINA DEL REY from the living room window. It also has one of those tiny little turbo pools in the back yard where you turn on the jets and swim in place? When touring the house for the first time, I stood at the edge of it and looked down and thought: 'Dude. Are you serious? I could use this little thing as a hot tub. Even though there already is one on the back end of it...' Lol. I didn't know they made pools that small! Remind you of anyone? Namely Hikaru and Kaoru from Ouran doubting Haruhi's description of a vinyl pool. Lol. That is just TOO funny. I also have a choice of bedrooms, and I'm kinda stuck between two. I've currently got a small little room with a queen-sized bed in it- so I'm naturally craving space (even though the room seemed a lot bigger when there was only a twin in it...)- and now I have a choice. Both rooms have small balconies, but one is nice and roomy with a gorgeous desk I can work on with a glassless window overlooking the main hall- the other one is tiny with a private bathroom. PRIVATE BATHROOM!! OMG! My brothers won't ever get into my stuff EVER AGAIN!! :whimper: I'm caught between two loves here... Private bathroom... loads of space... private bathroom... loads of space (almost like a small private apartment)... :whine: Oh what am I going to DO?! There IS a bathroom just barely three strides down the hall, but that's not really the point... I could hibernate in my room for WEEKS! I thought I should take the private apartment one for now... do it up all Japanese style (SO cool!), and who knows? The private bathroom might end up stinking up the place... Now all I have to do is invest in a private refrigerator and a small kitchenette. An 18-year-old girl's dream huh? And I could indulge in hopeless fantasies of living in my dream world Japan... I think I've been watching too many animes. There's so much I'll be able to do after dad and I have moved. There's so much I want to do. There is a veritable army of metaphorical fire ants of creativity biting me all over, and it's like I'm trying to win a 'who-can-stay-frozen-for-longest' contest, and I can't just jump and scream like I really want to do. sigh Yeah, this move'll be great. New air and all. First, I've gotta get working on that book though. "MaryAnne's Academy: For Charming Young Men" Hopefully it'll sell just as well as Harry Potter, and I'll make millions to make my dreams come true! I don't want to jinx anything though. O_O Maybe I said too much already. YIKES! LOL. This profiling thing sure is fun. big grin Well, talk to y'all later. :waves: |
