![]() Author has written 24 stories for Hogan's Heroes. I recently completed A Minor Problem with my wonderful collaborator, Valashu. I have also retro-fitted Peter and Anja to be the immediate sequel to A Minor Problem, and I will hope to complete that story during July 2020, and then embark on a post-war sequel that I've already plotted out with Valashu . So if you have read Peter and Anja, please be aware that as of June 1, the existing six chapters have changed somewhat. There is also some missing scenes available only on AO3. The time line of these three stories is: A Minor Problem, March to December 1943; Peter and Anja, March through June 1944; and the sequel, April 1945 to December 1946 or slightly later. I will be returning to Done Talking and Getting to Know You and finishing them this year, and sometime after that I am hoping to finish Behind the Rain. I am really proud to say that several of my 2019 stories won Papa Bear Awards. The awards are listed below and I am so grateful to people who read and liked these enough to vote for them: Caroling, Caroling: A bronze award for a long comedy and a best character awards for LeBeau. Four Score and Seven: Silver awards for short story speed-writing and for a story based on an episode. A Feint and a Faint: A bronze award for a story based on an episode. Hunger: A silver award for slash. I love several fandoms, but especially, Hogans Heroes. Thank you for giving me reviews and feedback on my stories. I crosspost some stories at AO3, and I publish slash there too that can't be found here. (Seven stories as of now, all noted below.) IRL, before coronavirus, I worked as a teacher's aide in a small Christian school and assisted with parties at a children's gym. Now I'm working at Target just trying to save like crazy. I've been taking community college classes in English, Math and Psychology and I should finish my degree in speech and language pathology in about 2 1/2 years. I promised myself last year that I wouldn't start any new stories in 2020. I would just concentrate on finishing up the ones I've started before I leave for college. That hasn't happened, but I HAVE to stop adding new stories soon. I have loved writing these stories but unfortunately all good things must come to an end and I'm not sure I can handle both full time college and fanfiction. Coronavirus has given me extra time to write, though! I saw the German TV version of Hogan's Heroes before the American version while I was visiting my relatives in Germany. That is why in most of my stories Newkirk has the stutter he has on the German version of the show. I feel this gives me something different and unique to explore in his character. Although actually a few other authors have written Newkirk with a stutter. Surprise, I'm not the only one! Also, I do speak German pretty well (because of my mom) and French well enough to get by, but I'm not great at writing in either one. I try but if you see mistakes please let me know. Some of the frustration and irritation that we see in Newkirk's personality on the original TV show makes perfect sense if you think of him as a person who stutters. (Because it really is frustrating to have this, believe me.) And if you notice, he's also kinda quiet most of the time. The important thing is that the stutter is canon in the German version of Hogan’s Heroes but it's never really explored because it's just dubbed in for laughs. So I’m looking at it more seriously and really exploring it. You might have already guessed that I stutter too. That makes me like 70 million people in the world. A fanfiction writer once asked me why I chose to include the stutter in my stories since it's only on the German version. First of all, it's real to me. And to me it's an interesting part of the character of Newkirk that hasn't been explored in fanfiction. And it's important to me to show people what it's like to live with this disability. I realize some people don't like it. and that's OK with me. I hope you'll give my writing a try anyway and maybe it will grow on you. My more graphic stories (mostly slash) can only be found on AO3. They include: Bedtime Stories, Five Conversations That Happened and One That Maybe Might Have, Hero Worship, Hum, Hunger, Private Time, and That Time I Kissed A Soldier. |
