Mary will teach Kitty how to play the pianoforte and stop acting like a child, and Kitty will teach Mary how to dress nicely and dance reels. Friendship blooms between the often forgotten sisters as they begin to finally grow up.

Darcy's horse casts a shoe while riding to Pemberley which causes him to miss encountering Elizabeth Bennet who is touring the estate. Thus he is unable to show her his change in behaviour, fails to learn of her improved opinion of him, fails to meet the Gardiners, and fails to learn what happens to Lydia. When Bingley ignores Darcy and returns to Netherfield and Jane, Darcy decides he might marry for love himself, and Elizabeth tells Darcy what she really thinks of him.

First Lizzy had learned of Mr. Darcy's hand in breaking Jane's heart, and then he had offered the most insulting marriage proposal in history. Could a day get worse? Only if she were to be threatened at sword-point, tied up, and whisked away by a rogue, with only the world's most arrogant man to watch over her. Luckily, that wasn't very likely to happen...

Elizabeth is sent to London to enjoy the fall season and does not return to Longbourn until Christmas of 1811. (This is a relatively short story - about 25K words - and it focuses almost entirely on Darcy & Elizabeth.)

A Pride and Prejudice variation of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast.

After spending 10 years living in solitude after the death of her husband and son, Mrs. Marianne Westfield nee Bennet decides to spend Christmas with her brother's family. Getting to know her nieces gives her an idea that will work to the benefit of all.

What would have happened if the second meeting between Elizabeth and Mr. Wickham was altered by Elizabeth gaining information that was not colored by her prejudice against Mr. Darcy? How would Elizabeth have gotten that information? A plot twist and a deeper look into the original story- most particularly the servant world.

This short story is a "what if" variation. What if Georgiana elopes with Wickham, but comes to her senses before Gretna Green is reached. It is definitely low angst. Mr and Mrs Bennet are rather better parents than depicted by Jane Austen. There will be six chapters. I hope you enjoy it. The T rating is just to be on the safe side.

While Elizabeth gets a bit of excellent advice from her friend Charlotte Collins while staying at the Hunsford Parsonage, it is the fact that the encounter with Colonel Fitzwilliam occurs a day early that changes the dynamics of her stay at the Parsonage.

Surely, Fitzwilliam Darcy had a plan. After he was given two coincidental opportunities, first Kent and then Pemberley, he must have realised that he would now have to be a little proactive when it came to seeking the hand of Miss Bennet. Reading P&P, Mr Darcy's feelings seem rather acute, but do not get much attention. This story explores them from the moment just after his rejection, to beyond his actual marriage. The action follows P&P exactly, but some secondary characters, most notably Georgiana and Mrs Younge, push the boundaries of Miss Austen's description. The style of writing diverges from hers ever more.

What was Darcy really thinking during the events of Pride and Prejudice? Let's cut out all the speeches and get to the nitty-gritty! A P&P short story. COMPLETE.

The following story has characters acting very OOC - if you don't like that then don't read ahead! What if Mr. Darcy had already been 'at home' when Elizabeth and Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner pay an unexpected visit to Pemberley. A rather naughty version of what could have happened if Lizzie Bennet had spied Mr. Darcy in his bedchamber after just getting out of the bath.

Shortly after the marriage of Mr. Collins Elizabeth and her sister Mary venture to visit their dear friend as promised, neither sister knew that love was waiting for them just out of sight. Mary/Col Fitzwilliam Complete

Marriage forces the Darcys to learn a thing or two more about pride and prejudices than they ever thought they needed to know.

Mr Bennet intended to father a son, and the P&P story hinges on the fact that he did not. How might life have been different if Elizabeth Bennet DID have a brother? This tale is regency set, but my knowledge of the period comes from the glimpses Jane Austen has provided in her work. I have filled the gaps with my own imagination, so I cannot vouch for its historical accuracy!

An alternate tale of a classic love story had the protagonists' characters and circumstances been a little different.

P&P Variation: "He could walk away. It was too fresh, after all, to think completely rationally in such a situation. He could walk away, but Elizabeth – his Elizabeth – was standing next to Wickham. He could not walk away." Disclaimer: Everything belongs to our dear Jane Austen, to whom we are all indebted for such lively characters and compelling stories.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

Catherine Wickham has never been happy at her home, so she decides to run away. However, she doesn't expect her plans to fail horribly, or to meet an artist who has been considering going to war. When she finds herself falling in love, she has to face the fact that she may be more like her mother than she thought.

Mr. Darcy, for once, needed Bingley's guidance, and at the Meryton Assembly, Lizzy does certainly hear his harsh words, but also hears something else - something that changes her opinion almost immediately. Based on 2005 movie.

Ms. Austen-P&P "...she found herself suddenly addressed by Mr. Darcy who took her so much by surprise in his application for her hand that, without knowing what she did, she accepted him." Let's willfully misunderstand her words shall we? Let's see where it takes us.

A lucky meeting in the seaside town of Morecastle results in a series of light-hearted adventures and misadventures, accompanied by prodigious amounts of flirting.

This "what if" stems from the 2005 movie and a broad P&P fanfiction presumption. During their conversation at Pemberley, Darcy found out the Gardiners and Elizabeth were traveling to the next day to Matlock. Knowing this, Darcy didn't ask them to meet Georgiana the next day. Instead, he rather wanted Elizabeth to meet his Matlock relations, and happiness ensues.

Elizabeth is a young single mom of 2. Abandoned by the twin's father when she found out at 17. She has risen from it and runs a daycare and lives just a few doors down from her sister Jane and her fiance Charles. It is at their wedding that she meets William Darcy. The judgmental jerk who points out all the problems of a young girl raising kids without a father. *Changed Rating*

Lizzie spends her time with her Aunt and Uncle as a child where she meets the one and only William Darcy. Their instant friendship grows, but when he severs connections she is extremely hurt. Now that they have been reconnected, can their relationship continue? Even with an impossible road ahead of them? Everyone is slightly OOC. Rating subject to change.

Mrs. Bennet, determined to see her last two daughters married, arranges a holiday in Bath. Will foolish Kitty avoid the temptations of the Georgian city? Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy do not see each other in Kent, but she visits Pemberley with the Gardiners, only to find many surprises await her there.- Complete!
