A different upbringing leaves Harry Potter with an early knowledge of magic and a view towards the Wizarding World not as an escape from the Dursleys, but as an opportunity to learn more about it. Unfortunately, he quickly finds that there are many elements in this new world that are unwilling to leave the Boy-Who-Lived alone.

This is NOT a nice story. It springs from my observation that Harry could easily have gone dark due to Dumbles manipulations. This story explores how bad it could get. It's M for a reason people. It's slightly inspired by Isaac Asimov's story Nightfall from which I plagiarised for the last couple of sentences. Super-Powerful Dark Sociopathic Harry.

After being delivered to the Dursley's doorstep like a jug of milk, Harry is rescued by a mysterious stranger before they even know he was there. Nearly ten years later, he is returned, but not as the boy Dumbledore expected. Rated T and will always be rated T.

Harry had noticed a lot of things that didn't add up around him. He did something about it. When Ron left the tent during the hunt for the horcruxes, he finally manages to get the true Hermione back. With a better plan they start the hunt anew.
